      I worked at Bi-Mart full-time

      Pros

Generally speaking, most people working there are nice ESOP (employee-owned stock plan) was nice but takes 5 years to vest Smaller company than big box stores allowed for more interaction with senior management Good work-life balance (if you have the right job with the right manager; otherwise it can be terrible)

      Cons

As good as their senior leadership is, they are stuck and stubborn in the old ways of doing things. For example: -Almost all technology is old. This makes jobs harder, less accurate and less efficient. They are finally more open to newer stuff but are often turned off by the cost and want to find ways to cut corners to get it. -Outdated policies. Male employees at the stores must wear ties, even in the summer. ...

      Advice to Management

Stop building new stores and focus on making the existing stores nicer. Upgrade signage, flooring, lighting, equipment. Loosen up on the dress code. Pay your people more. Re-evaluate your product selection and find ways to attract the younger demographic.

I worked at Bi-Mart full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Pharmacy hours and holidays. You get time off when you request it, most of the time.

      Cons

Petty, old boy style upper management, antiquated stores, antiquated computer system.

I worked at Bi-Mart full-time for more than a year

      Pros

The employee discount was honestly the only pro about working at Bimart.

      Cons

The pay is awful, and it takes forever to climb up the pay scale. The health insurance is extremely expensive. Bimart is the stingiest company I've ever experienced. Only second-hand registers and other equipment. Half the time it didn't even work, so the customers had to have their time wasted while we tried get the old machines back into working order. The building was practically falling apart. Inside the pharmacy...

      Advice to Management

Invest in your employees , and maybe there wouldn't be such a high turnover rate. Treat them well and they'll stay.

      Pros

Their paychecks do not bounce. That's about it.

      Cons

Hillbilly operation. Trashy. Most of the stores are really dirty and gross. Nepotism. They give management jobs to the family members of other managers. They have mandatory "product knowledge" meetings that send multiple team members from all of their stores to Eugene. You are paired with another person, usually a stranger, to sleep with overnight in a hotel room. These mandatory sleepovers are bound to become...

      Advice to Management

Get ready to be put in any position Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, and Alibaba feel like putting you in. No one that works for your company is smart enough to think their way out of that inevitability.

Current Employee - Pharmacy Technician in Eugene, OR

      I have been working at Bi-Mart full-time

      Pros

Off by 7pm weekdays. Pharmacy closed Sunday. Pharmacists are pretty chill. Pay is decent.

      Cons

One person seems to control the schedule. If they don’t get what they want, they complain to the DM until they get their way. Environment is always hostile to a point. Every other day, someone is singled out and treated like crap. Everyone thinks they do the best job and rip apart techs they think aren’t up to par. Usually, the one complaining is the one who’s the problem. Senior techs slack off, letting everyone else...

      Advice to Management

Store management shouldn’t treat Pharmacy like they don’t belong. Granted, Pharmacy is it’s own little world but each person has a job to do and shouldn’t be judged that their career choice is different than yours.
