I worked at Big Ass Fans full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits. Laid back work environment. Good pay.

    Cons

They are still working on transparency but it’s getting better. They were once a fully private company owned by a sole proprietor but they are now a private equity firm run by a board of directors under Lindsey Goldberg out of New York. They are going the way of distributors which could hurt the business long term.

I worked at Big Ass Fans full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Clean environment, fans to keep things cool(somewhat), emphasis on safety.

    Cons

All incentives have been cut in order to "save money" during virus time. Moral is incredibly low. No hope for advancement and management is too heavy handed. Company's focus is misguided. Fired veteran employees in order to get federal funding. Pay is very low and they mask it by giving you "perks." The perks are no longer available and no clue if they will ever be back. CEO and management don't treat you like family.

I worked at Big Ass Fans full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Consistency. They constantly fire people and it's always a terrible environment.

    Cons

The culture and toxic atmosphere. The former owner was terrible. I am told the current owner is terrible. I've also heard the current CEO is joke, I don't necessarily think he's a joke but the employees do so I guess it must be true.

I worked at Big Ass Fans full-time for more than a year

    Pros

At one point I would have said the pros were your co-workers but this company is practically allergic to smart people, kind people, or decent human beings... and the ones who remained just got fired because of coronavirus, I hear. The top brass would probably have you believe the beer fridge is a pro when actually it's just a recruitment gimmick that you'll start to get sick of after about a year working there. This company's had no groundbreaking ideas in the past half a decade and they're on their way out unless a complete purge of the current leadership team puts them back on track.

    Cons

Where to begin? When the company sold, they parted ways with an owner who used to routinely insult people and fire employees on a whim, creating a culture of fear, and they replaced him with a juvenile CEO and insecure CFO who were somehow worse. Current leadership is focused on ignoring every single piece of data pointing out how a company should be run in the 21st century to keep hard working people happy and put out a good product. They started running the company into the ground the moment they took over and now their job is almost finished. Was I surprised to hear they hung out to dry a large number of loyal employees as soon as coronavirus took off? Absolutely not. Nothing could be more on brand.

I worked at Big Ass Fans full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great employees, mostly. Perks are okay.

    Cons

Upper management is clueless, not interested in the employees, and focused on driving up sales only so that they can sell company for profit and get their dividend payout.
