I have been working at Big Sky Technologies full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Lots of room to grow.
    Great customers.
    Relaxed work environment.
    Everyone is local and accessible.

    Cons

Typical growing pains of a small company. Some see it as opportunity, others as lack of direction.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

    - Team and management is very receptive to ideas. As a result, being a part of a small team gives you the ability to take on what you feel is necessary to get the job done, sometimes defining how the future of the company will operate or what processes will be in place as the company grows.
    - Love the culture and values. Everyone is very competent and dedicated to their role and team.
    - Great benefits

    Cons

    - Small, fast paced team requires you to sometimes pull your own weight with little help. Can require you to chart a new path, which leads to some very daunting tasks.

    Advice to Management

Investment in your employees future in terms of education and helping them explore other areas of the business will be your biggest return.

I have been working at Big Sky Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Each employee has a say in the way the company grows and there are a lot of opportunities to make your mark. There is always a new challenge so the job never gets boring and I get to work with great, appreciative customers.

Many of the customers have unique needs, that require unique solutions. I love being able to problem solve and make recommendations without being micro-managed.

    Cons

Fast growth makes it tough to keep up. You often end up wearing a few hats.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more people.

    Pros

Big Sky provides a great working environment. They are committed to finding solutions for their customers no matter what it takes. They provide generous benefits and competitive salaries. They are a small company that thinks BIG!

    Cons

    Being smaller can limit resources.

I have been working at Big Sky Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Because it is still relatively small, there is ample space to leave your mark and get involved even when you are a little bit outside of the scope of your job definition. The office buzzes with the constant development of ideas and thinking about how to make the product better. A high level of interaction with our customers keeps the whole team involved in the actual pain and glory that might be felt in the field.

    Cons

The team is tight because they have been together for some time, so for some it may be hard to "break in." Should not be a problem if you are a self starter.
