Innovative company where you will grow quickly
Feb 10, 2023 - Sr Marketing Specialist in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Customers: Our customers are the entrepreneurs on the front line of construction, who are underserved by technology providers and take on the financial burden and risk of the industry -Mission/ Innovation: Tackling a massive problem that has been around for decades without anyone making a point of solving it. Billd invented a category in a way very few other companies have. -Career Growth: Billd moves incredibly fast and isn't shy about challenging employees. If you want to grow in your career, Billd has unlimited opportunities for you to do so. -People: Billd also attracts the people who want a challenge and want to grow. I would describe the people here as ambitious, long-term thinkers who truly care about the company and are doing more than just clocking in every day. -Future: Billd has the opportunity to be the largest player in a massive market.
Cons
-Work life balance: See above – Billd moves fast and will challenge you. This isn't an easy job and if you're looking for work life balance you can do better. That said, you're not expected to work long hours (majority of people leave at 5) and my Manager comes to me before I have to go to her to make sure my workload isn't leading to burnout.

Pros
Billd is attacking a fundamental problem in the construction industry which has been ignored for decades. This makes for a very dynamic and fun work environment; every week presents a new set of challenges! Billd has done a great job balancing work/life offering a hybrid schedule and creating an office culture that makes it exciting to come into the office (dogs, cold brew, campus vibe, and music). I learn something new every week I work at Billd; something I haven't enjoyed at previous companies.
Cons
For individuals who haven't worked at a startup, Billd might not be best fit. Because the company is the first mover in the material financing and pay app space, there is a lot of testing, failing, and iterating that takes place. This means you better be ready for a very fast paced, changing environment. But, if this is what you are looking for then you've found a great company!

Pros
-Some of the Coworkers are easy to get along with and are some people that you can see yourself grabbing drinks with after work. -Plenty of company events
Cons
-office politics is the most important thing that management values here. -Management encouraging and leaving fake reviews on glassdoor (they send emails encouraging leaving good reviews, and tell you not to leave any on glassdoor and come to them directly) -Job security: don’t think your job is safe for if you aren’t involved in office politics. People have got let go over things that wouldn’t be a big deal if managers or other people did them. -No clear promotion path: you constantly get promised promotion but in reality they will keep you in your position for as long as they can. -Lots of good people have left and taken better opportunities elsewhere. -No real processes in place your job title could change any day without any warning.

Best company I've ever worked for
Mar 8, 2023 - Marketing in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Billd is the best company I've ever worked for. The people are good, honest people, and incredibly smart. I'm challenged here and given a lot of responsibility and have earned the trust from the CEO to get the job done. I am able to take complete ownership of my work, which is incredibly important to me. I look around the office at other departments and I see teams that are given authority and ownership of their roles as well. You'll learn a lot and be given a lot of responsibility. If you don't like that, this isn't the place. But if you do, you'll have every opportunity in the world here.
Cons
Nothing major comes to mind.

Clear mission statement and goals help you feel part of the company on Day 1.. Transparent management on every topic. High energy and dynamic work environment with highly engaged and smart co-workers.
Cons
For a company that's less than 5 years old, Billd is much more advanced and mature in many aspects and way exceeds my expectations.
