Easy to get promoted, but not competitive in wages and benefits.

    Pros

Free food, generally easy to climb the ladder and get promoted to a higher position. 1 week of paid vacation.

    Cons

Wages are not competitive (generally less than $40,000 a year for general manager working 50 plus hours a week) Hours are long. Most management jobs ask for 50 hours per week, but this one required 2 14 hours days per week, and sometimes on top of that a 12 hour day. Often outside sales and events would cause the 50 hour work week to push 60 hours. 1 week of paid vacation, but generally too short handed to actually take the vacation. Absolutely no other benefits at all. No healthcare, vision, dental, 401k. No bonus program or incentive to increase sales or lower cost of goods. No holiday pay, and the only holidays that the store was closed was Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

    Pros

The hours are good-For a restaurant.

    Cons

Upper management expects miraculous sales growth from last year's sales. 15% growth expectation is absurd.

    DO NOT WORK HERE

Aug 16, 2018 - Catering Sales Manager in Edgewater, CO

    Pros

The meat's are good. That is literally it.

    Cons

I was the Catering Sales Manager for the Edgewater location in Colorado. I was hired as an independent contractor and managed by Sharla Wright. I received 10% commissions on my sales, as well as delivery fee and gratuity for orders I packaged and delivered. Every single catering order I ever executed for them, I packaged with the team. The team packaged the meats, I packaged everything else. Therefore the gratuity was always split in half. I also always delivered my catering orders therefore I always received the full delivery fee. After I started working for them, there were a lot of things that made me not want to represent the brand (literally frozen bags of microwaved mac and cheese... gross). On my final executed catering order, Cody Wright asked me to arrive at 8AM to help package an 11AM order. The literal SECOND that I showed up, instead of "good morning", I was greeted with "hey, everything's done already". I immediately knew where he was going with this. It was a HUGE order with a ~$600 gratuity. I tried my best to ignore him, and ran an errand at his request to get more chaffing dishes for the event. Once I got there, I sat in the parking lot crying to my dad about how rude, condescending and passive aggressive Cody is. I was badly struggling financially, so I couldn't understand why an owner would do that to their employee? Anyway, I went back to the restaurant to finish the event and could barely get through it. Cody is so awful to be around. After the event I texted Sharla that I wanted to quit. She said fine, she understood, and she'd have a check for me with the commissions and gratuity from the order. Long story short, Cody told her I "didn't deserve" any portion of the gratuity. Sharla and Cody have done nothing but lie since this instance saying they never agreed to pay me anything other than commissions. I have a friend who's a lawyer and helped me dig into this by reviewing my contract, text messages, etc, and I can easily take them to small claims, but have since been so busy with a job that actually cares about me, that I've decided to not waste my time. But I do want to put the word out there that people who I thought were kind, are actually extremely spiteful and manipulative. DO NOT WORK HERE.
