I have been working at Bio-Reference Labs full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very Great PTO and health insurance. They CAN be understanding and they will listen to your side of any situation.

    Cons

Unfair salaries and nepotism at its best. Families upon families moving up in the business while others are stuck at the same level they were hired at.

    Advice to Management

    Open your eyes

    Pros

The only thing to note is the insurance and benefits are some of the best around

    Cons

Any department you work in some bosses can be rude and talk to employees in an unprofessional manner. No positive motivation given to employees over good thing done all about work. Some employees are rude and very two-faced when talking to employer or employee.

    Advice to Management

Learn to give positive motivation to employees

    I worked at Bio-Reference Labs full-time

    Pros

Insurance is great and some of the co workers are nice.

    Cons

Everything else. They over work you with no compensation. The supervisors are rude and unprofessional. They don't want to work with their employees. You need to know someone to be able to grow in the company.

    Advice to Management

    Get new management

I worked at Bio-Reference Labs full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

When you first arrive many of your fellow employees are amazing, very nice and helpful. If you are an independent worker then the DNA section is God sent. There is an hour of lunch and if you are a fast worker then you can enjoy all of it. The spring and summer months are lighter to work.

    Cons

I have literally seen every one of my testing coworkers cry with the amount of stress and work put on them. Every age/creed. The supervisors Mayra and Priti at best are overworked and at worst can be extremely vindictive and passive aggressive. Due to the stress level most people quit within a few months. I stayed eight months and that was considered long (six is average). At least three people left during the time I was there. This causes understaffing and forces everyone who is left to work the job of about two people at the least depending on the job. Many of my coworkers have been reprimanded for not using their entire lunch because they forget/don't go because of the large work load. If you ask any of the older lab staff for a genuine opinion of working there they will probably say run. Do not take this advice lightly.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people all at once and pray to God they all stay. Put Mayra and Priti into retirement they are doing terrible at managing/supervising (I know Mayra is better alone so possibly just get rid of Priti. (She seems to think that she is the supervisor, is domineering and is usually a very nasty person to work under). Possibly beg on your knees for the new people to stay if you don't get rid of Priti. Give a raise to the people who are still working there, they need it, or outsource more work.

    Pros

nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing

    Cons

Compensation is either below market value for those who work hard or grossly inflated for those who do little. COL increases that are laughable, zero room for advancement. Kiss up and you'll rise fast but if you want to be recognized for your work ethic, then look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Get your heads out of the sand and LISTEN to your employees. stop favoring those who suck up and recognize those who work hard.

I have been working at Bio-Reference Labs full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, 401k plan, Life insurance & flexibility with hours. Great co workers, enjoyable environment, good salary & training is on point.

    Cons

No room for advancement after working half your life dedicating yourself to the company for more than a decade & being tossed to the side for an outsider coming in. It's just sad to know that loyalty means little to upper management when you are striving to move up in the company that you worked blood sweat & tears for.

    Advice to Management

Remember where you came from when you wanted a chance or rather the opportunity to advance.
