I have been working at BioMed Realty full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The 401 K match program was done with thought and analysis. The investment grow at a really good interest rate.

    Cons

Too many processes and procedures with no support for middle management. T he company would be more effective if the structure wasn't contingent on a reverse pyramid where the few do the most work and the majority of the members do the least.

    Advice to Management

Restructures the company so that the operations team get more support from upper management. In addition there should be cross-training with the mindset to promote within. There would be a more cohesive working environment if all departments worked together instead of in silos.

I worked at BioMed Realty full-time

    Pros

Opportunity to work on a variety of different projects. Overall, great group of people to work with.

    Cons

Multiple levels of middle management create bureaucratic environment. Middle management is frequently hired over the top of existing employees. Middle managers in the company are hired based on years of experience rather than skills/talent/expertise.
