    Pros

Clean facility and donors are entertaining. No day is the same. The job is as hard as you make it.

    Cons

If you like being short staffed and standing up all day with little to no break this the job for you.

    Advice to Management

The line staff are the keys to your success.

I have been working at Biolife Plasma Services (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of the people you will work with are great.
Compensation, for my area, is higher than the average wage.
There is upward mobility, to a point

    Cons

If you get assigned a flex shift be prepared to leave at 9pm and come in the next morning at 4:45am.

  4. "Love the staff, extremely poor and inexperienced management"

I worked at Biolife Plasma Services (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The staff are incredibly hard working and under appreciated. They are still surprisingly upbeat and always happy to help. Corporate has great perks, unfortunately management made it unbearable.

    Cons

Management is unwilling to listen to new ideas and will come up with their own "innovative" ideas that are really just recycled from previous years. Then when you tell them we have tried this before and it didn't work because of x, y, and z, you are accused of being "resistant to change". Communication is extremely poor. Management will have 3+ hour meetings behind closed doors 1x per week, but still cannot communicate theses changes to the staff.

    Advice to Management

Please value your employees. They carry you on their backs. Many love their job and working with donors for a great cause. They deserve to be treated with respect. If everyone is truly equal that means you must see that your staff is important and the less turnover you have, the better everyone's experience will be.

    Pros

Professional, friendly atmosphere. Teamwork is encouraged. Co-workers are fantastic. Benefits are great. Schedule is flexible.

    Cons

On feet all day. Frequent SOP changes. Training could be better. Occasional surly donor. Some risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear when training. Make sure employees are proficient at a task before throwing something new at them.

I worked at Biolife Plasma Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are amazing and they start day 1. If you want to get into phlebotomy, this is a pretty good stepping stone.

    Cons

The hours are really rough. You don't really get to pick a shift. You pretty much get what they give you despite the shifts supposedly being handing out by seniority. Hardly anyone carries their own share of the load, including supervisors. The pay isn't good at all.
