I worked at Biolife Plasma Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Bio Life Plasma Services sets the standard in plasma donations and are always striving to improve the quality and efficiency of it's practices. They not only provide great benefits to their employees from day one, but also, the management team truly cares for its employees and strives to help those interested move up into a management or supervisory role.
The Coralville center went through many changes during my time there, however, the management team stayed positive and greatly supported it's staff through necessary internal transitions.

    Cons

This job can be stressful at times and the focus on reaching company goals can tend to put a strain on it's hourly employees. Those interested in working in a donation center should be great at multi-tasking and handling stressful situations dealing with donor needs.

    Pros

Great benefits and great people to work with.

    Cons

Typical workplace politics, supervisors are not required to know their area, lack of growth within the lab, management styles are dependent on opinions with the most "power".

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to try to see things from the floor. Do not let your emotions or opinions of your staff determine their fate.

I worked at Biolife Plasma Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Clean, professional, fairly well run facility. Good health benefits including a range of options on medical, dental, and supplemental vision. good 401k options. good opportunity for advancement

    Cons

very high turnover. fast paced ( not really a con if can handle it ). operations constantly change. Too many people trying to boss each other around instead of being accountable for themselves.

    Advice to Management

get on the same page guys. no one knows what to do if everyone in MGMT has a different answer. stay professional even if some employees don't. let your expectations be known.
