I worked at Biomat USA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked with a lot of great employees and didn't mind going to work everyday. The pay is alright, and the benefits are average, but overall a great place to work.

    Cons

Can get a little repetitive doing the exact same thing day in and day out, but working with great employees really make it much more enjoyable. Getting time off can be a hassle and you have to schedule quite a bit in advance.

    Advice to Management

Don't think that you are better than everyone else. Just because you are in a higher position and pay grade, doesn't mean you are better than the people working for you.

    Pros

Coworkers, ambitions, making a difference, good program, nice donors sometimes

    Cons

Never enough employees, hiring takes forever, people don't follow basic instructions, bad attitudes, favouritism, bad hiring practices.

    Advice to Management

Fight for your employees. Get things done that need to be done. Have the employees backs, especially when dealing with difficult donors. Listen. Allow people time off, without complaining about it. Be involved in the process, and not just watching it.

    Pros

-Willing to work with School Schedules
-No necessary College or work experience required for most entry level positions
-Comparable pay for entry level positions
    -Good introduction to medical field
    -Closed on Sunday
-Opportunities for growth in the company

    Cons

    -Required to work occasional Saturdays
    - Growth in company can feel slow, if this isn't meant as your long-term occupation

    Pros

They have entry level positions for which they hire with little to no medical experience as long as you are mature and professional.

Their trainers are patient, polite, and willing to help.

Management at the San Diego location are friendly and easy to work with.

Good for gaining experience of working with medical documents, and the process of working with their donors will make you comfortable with working with patients.

Room for good promotions, and pay raises.

Many of the managers used to be entry level employees who promoted up.

The center is very busy, and the Parent Company (Grifols) has been around since the first world war. Meaning there is guaranteed job security as long as you are not rude.

You are kept busy, but not overworked.

    Cons

Pay is good for entry level, but not stellar.

Those with extensive experience, or medical training will eventually become bored and frustrated with the pay. Leading to a high turnover rate once the employee gains the necessary experience and education.

Scheduling is done a week in advance, though they are flexible as long as you put in requests in advance.

Overall a good company to work for, and I would highly recommend it to those just getting a fresh start out of school. Even in my interview one of the managers mentioned the high turnover rate, and that this is often a stepping stone position.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the solid work.

I worked at Biomat USA (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is plenty of room for growth.
It's a great entry level job to gain experience.
There are so many centers and they allow transfers. Also, many travel opportunities.

    Cons

    Management is horrible.
If they like you, you'll probably move up.
Theye allow the donors to treat you terrible and then mostly likely comp them.
Very short staffed and very high turnover rate. You will definitely get your hours plus overtime but then get scolded for getting overtime.
CQM is a witch and so is the AM. They work as a team to attack the people they do not like.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees with respect.
Just because they are replaceable doesn't mean you have to treat them like they are.

I have been working at Biomat USA (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a job. Some nice coworkers but you get that anywhere.

    Cons

Where do I start? The schedule is fictional, you basically have to be at work at the scheduled time but you NEVER get out on time. The attendance policy is a joke. Even with broken bones or organs being removed you will still get a write up. Management is way under-qualified, and more closed door than ever now that the quality department has a new manager who spends way too much time gossiping about everyone rather than owning up to her own mistakes. We falsify donor times to appease corporate. We pay donors to put positive reviews on social media. When we don't get enough donors we are basically told we are not doing our job right and not letting enough (unsuitable!) people donate.

    Advice to Management

Walk the walk. You refuse to hire more staff yet it is the staff that collects your product. I'd love to see anyone above the leads getting involved. Pay people enough so they are willing to stay. The turnover rate is ridiculous.

I worked at Biomat USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This place gets your foot in the door but its far different from health care.

    Cons

The donors can be extremely difficult to handle, many have threatened us, and our management team refused to call the police or handle the situation. Promotions are based off popularity, many good workers get stuck in a position for years, even though this place has a career progression program it should be following. They rush to get you signed off. The quality team is a joke, they have made up regulations to try and catch me in an error.

    Advice to Management

Listen to ALL of your staff. Stop thinking your center can run itself, you promote people and expect them to be able to lead when they have zero experience. If there is as much drama as there is at that center, management needs to step up.
