I have been working at Biotage full-time

    Pros

    nice people and great products

    Cons

I enjoyed working for the company when they were based in Charlottesville. After they moved to Charlotte and did some restructuring Biotage developed a huge ego. Also I never cared for the president; i found him to be smug, arrogant and somewhat narcissistic and he he never fully appreciated the hard work that the employees put in. Also be careful if you work in sales because they will destroy your territory and rob you of commissions and come up with some complex corporate lingo to justify it or just simply ignore you if you express any of your own opinions. I moved on to a company that acknowledges my hard work and doesn't pull any fast ones on me.

I worked at Biotage full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay and great people to work with.

    Cons

Upper management thinks it is a fast growing biotech-type company and are not satisfied with reasonable growth. Performance reviews are always "meets expectations" so they done have to give you a big raise.

    Advice to Management

    Stop reorganizing all the time

I worked at Biotage full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Bonuses once a year. Company lunches and activities. The employees were actually rewarded for the hard work that was put in. We felt appreciated.

    Cons

The pay wasn't that good for the job that I did. I feel that we should have been paid a lot better. We did get right much over time, so that helped the pay check.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people better. The other perks were great, but to be able to see the perks on the paychecks would have been better.
