I worked at Birch Communications (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people to work with. Management is lazy towards installation and customer service.

    Cons

Management is lazy towards installation and customer service. The sales role is filled with preteens and wannabes slinging bandwidth and phones they can't deliver

    Advice to Management

    It's too late...

    Pros

Good starting salary for a job right out of college

    Cons

Very difficult to hit sales quotas, completely ridiculous margins means you will be selling a product that is more expensive than almost EVERY other competitor, even though it is a commodity...

    Advice to Management

Change your margins or risk failing in the long run

    Pros

It is a great location. Employees are nice. The products can be good and are designed for small to midsize business offices that need help.

    Cons

They keep growing so fast and not allowing the teams and systems to catch up. The environment is chaotic and it is hard to serve your customer.

I worked at Birch Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some members of the management team really listen to and care about their employees. My manager was understanding and flexible. Benefits were pretty decent.

    Cons

After an acquisition, sales became a complete challenge. At a complete disadvantage when compared to our competition in regards to pricing and services available. Hard to hit quota on a monthly basis. Time to deliver services is a painfully long road.

    Advice to Management

Be more flexible and transparent with your employees. Take more time to get to your teams.
