I have been working at Birch Family Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The benefits of being a classroom staff or therapist you get ALL of the holidays and school breaks (except for the summer). The summer program is 6 weeks and then two weeks off before the fall program starts. Not a bad deal.

    Cons

Not a con- But as with working in any classroom, you have to adjust to the children and different personalities of the staff you work with. It's a pretty comfortable environment.
Not a con- Also theres no room for growth unless you gain a degree. (not unreasonable)
DO NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN THE POPULARITY HYPE- be your own person and do not follow the crowd.

As a mandated employee, you're unable to leave when your shift is over if the next employee does not show.

    Advice to Management

Provide better training and give management personal development hours for managers training.

I worked at Birch Family Services full-time

    Pros

Paid time off when children are not in school

    Cons

Not much room for lateral movement. No encouragement to pursue higher ambitions. There was never a raise just a small 2% bonus of your salary that is broken up in 2 separate checks.

    Pros

They hired you knowing that you have no experience in Microsoft and require work done in short time period w/o any help while saying that is ok if you don't have experience or knowledge of working on computer
    This is cons not pros

    Cons

Fire you w/o any notification ( unjustly )
    Age discrimination w/o admitted,
Claiming of job performance was poor while 30 years I was doing well under different agency w/o any citation, good job performance that I know well
They pretend they are so professional but in facts their knowledge is limited and and they act on fear
