I have been working at Biscuits & Bath full-time

    Pros

    1. Working with dogs. 2. Hard work is recognized and rewarded. 3. Plenty of opportunities to prove yourself and to evolve. 4. Supported by capable colleagues - Personally I feel like someone always has my back. 5. Very satisfied with the work I do and the people I work with. 6. The company is very reasonable when it comes to personal matters and you need to call out or be late. They do encourage you to let them know...

    Cons

    1. Not all clients are courteous. In few occasions, clients can be unreasonable (as in any business). 2. Your work can become overwhelming if you are not prepared and organized every day.

    Advice to Management

I would like to see more company-wide events that bring all the associates together. We've done 'Escape Room' and 'Christmas Dinner' before which were awesome. It doesn't even need to be fancy. Something simple that connects us more often "outside" of work. It makes it feel less like a job and more like real life.

I have been working at Biscuits & Bath part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    1. Coworkers 2. Learning and getting to know different dog breeds

    Cons

    1. Passive Aggressive management 2. Sometimes there would be one person in a play area with like 40 large dogs. That’s dangerous! 3. Lack of training for the new employees 4. Managing doesn’t understand what it’s like to be a dog handler so therefore, unrealistic high expectations

    Advice to Management

There should be at-least 2 people in each play area. Who cares about your budget? Someone’s safety should be your top priority!

    I worked at Biscuits & Bath part-time

    Pros

All the different dogs you meet and get to pet.

    Cons

They only train you for like 3 days and expect you to handle like 50 dogs all by yourself. Don't apply to green which location it's the most strictest. Clients expect you to have magic powers , dont do this dont do that like how else am I supposed to correct your dogs behavior? Also they dont want you to know but if you Google it, someone got raped at green which location

    Advice to Management

Train more and don't let only one person handle 30-50 dogs by themselves. Cause they stop 2 dogs then other dogs start and so on

    I worked at Biscuits & Bath part-time

    Pros

Much of the time you can pick your hours.

    Cons

I was the only employee not getting high on my break. Not professional people. The manager asked me to tie 4 large dogs around my waist (I am 5'3) and go down steep stairs. How dangerous is that. I said no thanks and quit the next week or so.

I have been working at Biscuits & Bath part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - You get to work and understand the behavior of dogs - The pay is sustainable -You work with very passionate people

    Cons

    - The ability to advance is scatered. This means that people who have shown they can handle a new position must wait because they have hired someone from outside. - Certain positions are filled quicker than others. this means when the company is lacking in drivers, they will hire managers instead of drivers.

I worked at Biscuits & Bath part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Getting to work with all types of different dogs and getting to really know/bond with them and PTO, that's literally it.

    Cons

Oh, where do I begin? 1. Unless you are a manager/supervisor, up in corporate, a trainer or a groomer, you get ZERO respect here. I was a handler AND a walker, and I can say first hand that even though in my opinion, the HANDLERS are the ones with the hardest job, they are treated literally like dirt, along with the walkers. Handlers get blamed for problems that the supervisors are responsible for. It's all one big...

    Advice to Management

Stop being SOOOO money hungry, do proper background checks on people, stop hiring anybody and actually hire people with at least 1 or 2 years experience handling dogs so that you aren't hiring new people every month...NOBODY STAYS AT THIS COMPANY FOR MORE THAN 6 MONTHS OR 1 YEAR! That is not good. Says a lot about the company, that's for sure. Also hire managers that actually understand basic dog behaviors/psychology/body...

I worked at Biscuits & Bath full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - The dogs are amazing and the relationships you establish with clients are just as great. - Cool co-workers - Pretty easy to get into other roles (dog walking, bathing, etc)

    Cons

    - Handlers & Walkers are treated like nothing, even though they're pretty much the backbone of everything. There would be times where I'd be closing and cleaning up by myself while the front desk staff would be chatting away. - The management is utterly terrible. I couldn't make a shift due to a family emergency and was fired in the most unprofessional way by the manager, who then apparently lied and told HR that...

    Advice to Management

Treat your lower staff like equals, they do more work than anyone and for not enough. Start hiring staff that actually ENJOY being around and have experience with dogs, it doesn't make any sense for a shift supervisor to be terrified them. Despite the nonsense I had to deal with in my last month, I would recommend this to anyone who's interested in working with animals and wants to get in the field. Get as much experience...

I worked at Biscuits & Bath

    Pros

    Meeting members of the community.

    Cons

Directly from the hiring manager from a response in a previous review: "Regardless of your dog care role – Vet, Groomer, Dog Trainer, Dog Handler, etc. – you will be bitten by a dog at some point.. . - Allison" I want to begin by saying people working here want to because they genuinely love dogs, however not everyone has been trained to work with them. As a company that hires young professionals where this is a first...
