I worked at Bishops full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Bishops is a good company if you're working at one of the corporate shops. The continued education is great. There's really good stylists and the company parties are fun. You get to be yourself, listen to good music and make money. Had alot of fun, made some good friends and great clients.

    Cons

The franchise store I worked for had unrealistic and unfair commission guidelines. There was backstabbing, bullying and intimidation from other stylists and management didn't take it seriously until they were the victim of it. They always changed the schedule around to favor the people who "had the highest numbers" which made him look good in the eyes of the franchisee. Who cares if they gave hack job haircuts, just pump em through soldier! The dub step that constantly poured out of the speakers was nauseating. The manager proved himself to be a completely psychotic and delusional, sneaky, condescending liar, who gaslights employees and makes promises he never intends on keeping. If you stand up for yourself, you get fired. Avoid that place like you would a Trump supporting relative if you have integrity. Otherwise, give it a try if you're into dubstepping it on up.

    Advice to Management

    Got nothin for him

    Pros

Friendly staff, accessible leaders and great sense of community.

    Cons

I've yet to find any cons. I'd like to make more commission, as a manager, but I'm paid salary so I understand.

    Advice to Management

    Corporate is amazing. Nuff said.

I worked at Bishops full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I'm not sure. I was there a Month and 2 weeks. I knew who my alli was the day I auditioned. She was very afraid of me, and made sure to make my experience at Bishops Barbershop in West Seattle a living Hell. which, I have absolutely NO time for.

    Cons

Opportunity to explore different positions within the company, other than behind the chair.. However, I started out behind the chair, and had to deal with too much nonsense. I did not make it as far as I had hoped to achieve.

    Advice to Management

Don't be so blind. Value honest hardworking people, who wish to help your company grow. Make sure they are heard. Do NOT ignore them. Your loss Bishops. This will continue until someone is willing to listen. So far, in my case, no such luck.
