    Positive Outlook

I worked at Bjarke Ingels Group NYC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The projects are exciting. The office is filled with intelligent and talented designers. A great place for young people who don't need to rely on this job for financial stability.

    Cons

Low pay (especially relative to long hours). Little guidance from a small but growing senior support staff. Most senior designers do not value your time or their own. Severely understaffed projects. Very little transparency from management.

    Advice to Management

Encourage staff to stay by paying fairly and providing opportunities equally. Staff projects with the understanding that BIG's design process requires more time and energy due to its iterative design philosophy and clients are reluctant to trust young people with unconventional solutions.

    Cons

There is no work / life balance. Poor medical benefit and often disorganized office management.

I worked at Bjarke Ingels Group NYC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Relaxed work environment, great people, lots of responsibility given to young staff.

    Cons

OK pay, sometimes long hours (depending on the project), not a ton of mentors experienced in building construction (when I was there).

    Advice to Management

They should have more oversight of projects throughout the DD and CD phase to keep the quality of the projects high through every phase of design.
