I worked at Black Hills Exploration & Production as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Black Hills was a wonderful place to work! There is a great work-life balance, the people are wonderful, and there are great opportunities to move up in the company quickly. Everyone was very patient and willing to teach me new things and help when I had questions. I also felt I was compensated quite well for my entry-level position. Overall, great company, great people!

    Cons

I honestly did not experience any overwhelming difficulties or frustrations while working here.

    Advice to Management

Continue being easy to approach and willing to teach!

I have been working at Black Hills Exploration & Production full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great leadership. High integrity. Great team and environment.

    Cons

Lower than average pay for the industry.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees what they are worth or, you will train them, then lose them. Saying that BHC doesn't compare with larger E&P companies because of size is not an excuse. They are still on equal ground as competition for talent. Don't let your good people go to the competition.
