Global company with many offices. Broad range of businesses, markets, and locations. Wide range of career opportunities. Strong focus on career development. Good work life balance. Management that cares.

I have been working at Black & Veatch full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible schedules (9-80), work/life balance (really the main reason I'm still around), decent vacation, decent benefits, strong culture, good salary, strong recent engagement in innovation practices.

    Cons

Large firm can be slow to change and adapt to new challenges and technologies.

    Advice to Management

Continue reaching out to professionals for ideas for change.

I have been working at Black & Veatch full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good work life balance.

    Cons

Many experienced professionals don't train jr. or new engineers. I wish the culture or leaders get proactive on this. No learning opportunity!

    Advice to Management

Develop a culture that trains new engineers. The upside, young professionals will enjoy and work efficiently.

I have been working at Black & Veatch full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Top two Pros would be Steady flow of projects and Very competitive compensation. It is an Ethical company which will make you feel proud of. Its a worldwide establishment so it helps to keep your opportunities open if that is what you are looking for.

    Cons

Only Cons that I can see is that the Career progression is limited. Many employees have to work on same level for years without promotion, and the reason could be because the client project that the employee works on does not have that requirement of the promoted level. Also, there is limited work-life balance, especially if you are aiming for the career progression.

    Advice to Management

Employees will like to get performance based career progression. That would be a great morale boost, knowing that they are being rewarded for their extra effort and as always long hours.
