I worked at Black-eyed Pea (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Tips were decent, working with the managers and my ex- coworkers were like family. The food was greattttt. The work was just very casual, easy going, I enjoyed just about every moment working there. Now all I have is a bunch of great memories.

    Cons

I miss everyone I worked with, the fooddddd, my call tables, why did BEP have to run in a hole and leave, it was such a perfect restaurant.

    Advice to Management

Why did you not do more to save the Pea!

    Pros

The people (customers and co workers)

    Cons

The owners filed for bankruptcy and continued to let the employees work. They shut the company down the day before pay day and the first of the month. They owe the employees 4 weeks of pay.

    Advice to Management

Stop bankrupting companies and ruining hard working people's lives.

I worked at Black-eyed Pea (More than a year)

    Pros

Home style cooking, employee discount, close to bus line and several other businesses. many seasoned employees. quiet environment

    Cons

It's not set up well for customers' needs. They nearly all want a booth or to by the window because it is dark in the middle and unwelcoming. The tables are small, but the dishes are large, so there's not much room. So, this sucks for middle section because they don't get as many clientele and are the first sent home. most customers are elderly, so don't eat much and don't tip much. the manager didn't like me, so she gave me early afternoon shifts in the middle.

    Advice to Management

Remodel for more capacity and give servers a chance to thrive.
