    *Travel within SE Asia often
    *Team environment

    Cons

*Top down management; not much autonomy to make your own decision
*Budgets were paper thing but expectations to deliver were very high
*worked with too many cross functional colleagues that did not see the same vision or alignment

    Advice to Management

Enable your regional directors or Country managers to make bold decisions for their teams; welcome feedback from the frontline and adopt what the trend is doing. Dont be so prideful

    I worked at BlackBerry full-time

    Pros

    1. Great benefits and remuneration.
    2. People I worked with were great, and willing to share their experiences.
    3. Great workforce who strive on despite risk of retrenchment looming constantly.

    Cons

    1. Process is dated, and changes in processes are not being communicated effectively. (Sending an email with no other follow-up is the best deployment they can do, if they remember to do it.)
    2. Career advancement lies mainly in Canada / North America.
    3. Expectations to work through email communication via the company issued BlackBerry device, you are away from office but you are never away from work.
    4. Very little planning in all levels, most plans are poorly communicated and for short terms, without much apparent planning for failure.

    Advice to Management

    1. Stop changing the plan every other week, and communicate the plans effectively to all levels.
    2. Get those responsible for planning to do some active risk management, so that you do not need to change your plan because one thing screw up.
    3. Update your processes and define it with your global teams in mind, it is discouraging that teams outside NA and EMEA are always treated as afterthoughts.
