    Pros

Despite the company having difficult time, I had great time for acquiring and learning great knowledge. People were great as well.

    Cons

Because of difficulties the company was having, the mood was not that energetic, and some of facilities were not on the point.

I have been working at BlackBerry full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    average benefits and compensation
    Good work life balance

    Cons

Blackberry has been cutting staff over the last several years; leaving the employee to pick up the pieces.

    Advice to Management

Now that you've divested into all these sub-products and services its time to pick one and "make Blackberry great again!"

I worked at BlackBerry full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company strategy is strong but they are struggling to execute on it. There is lots of freedom in the sales roles, which makes the work life balance strong.

    Cons

Quota targets are not attainable. Attainment numbers are around 15% for AE's and yet the company boasts about its "growth" on its earnings calls. The core software product simply does not work for most Enterprises, and so the day is filled with handling customer complaints and saying "I'm sorry". After I resigned, they refused to pay me the commission owed from 2 months back. This is typical of how they treat the sales team.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like people that you actually care about. Fix the software product so that it works for all your customers.

I have been working at BlackBerry as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Get to work on bleeding edges technologies and new projects

    Cons

Projects completed are not that recognised by upper management

    Advice to Management

Look at employing co ops as full time

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

My tenure at BlackBerry (formerly RIM) began when they were at their largest. This meant that I had access to some of the best resources was dealing with partners around the world.

    Cons

My tenure at BlackBerry (formerly RIM) ended during their tumultuous downturn. It felt like every few months people were getting laid off and there were no expectations for when it would end. During a two year period the company went through three CEOs, definitely a sign of the hard times.

    Advice to Management

Manage expectations. This was the biggest gap I saw in management capabilities. Most employees were left working confused or contradictory to the plan as there was no plan communicated.
