I worked at BlackRock as an intern

    Pros

People are very friendly and always willing to help. Great atmosphere, intelligent peers and leadership help drive employees to be their best.

    Cons

No cons really. Analysts may work long hours early on, however that comes with any kind of job in the Financial Services world.

    Advice to Management

Love the push for technology. Keep expanding to reach more technically savvy talent. Keep investing in Aladdin and BlackRock Solutions.

I worked at BlackRock as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - prestigious name
    - great exposure to asset management and different asset classes
    - working with smart people
    - well paid

    Cons

    - people are fake
    - office politics

    Advice to Management

BlackRock is a great company overall. The people there are very high-achieving and intelligent. One thing I did notice about BlackRock is that they would always try to say things like they aren't like a Goldman and are full of a bunch of a holes but are still the #1 asset management firm. Some even said things like we have a "banking mentality" in the sense that they work really hard, but are nicer. I noticed a lot of people at BlackRock when they speak to each other they pretend to be really nice but everyone talks badly about each other behind their backs, which surprised me as an intern and I found it to be very unprofessional and high-school like. But that may just be the corporate world in general.

I have been working at BlackRock as an intern

    Pros

    - Great company with lots of smart people.
    - Flat structure where interns/coops highly respected.
    - Great learning environment with broad talent and resources

    Cons

    - Not many career opportunities after coop. I did a coop as part of my college program for six months and there weren't many full time opportunities when I finished college.

I have been working at BlackRock as an intern

    Pros

Really convenient and it gives you ample time to prepare for each answer.

    Cons

I applied for two positions and only received a virtual cover letter request from one of the positions. But I was told I failed to submit a virtual cover letter for another position. I got confused.

I worked at BlackRock as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Intelligent and Hardworking Staff, competitive pay

    Cons

Homogeneous mentality, you have to look walk and talk like everyone else to be successful.

    Advice to Management

Foster actual diversity, not just surface level things like gender, sexual orientation, and ethnicity but actual different schools of thought. This can't be accomplished without a freedom of expression environment that currently doesn't exist.
