I worked at Blackbaud full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

the amount of vacation is good, some people are good to work with

    Cons

benefits are not that great, too expensive. layoffs every two years, then they rehire the same jobs six months later at a lower price point. shameful. culture is also going downhill - there's no more fun at work. Hard to move from one area of the company to another to expand your horizons.

    Advice to Management

every few years, they bring a new CEO, CFO, President, or something similar and these men always want to make huge changes to leave their mark on the company. they reorg and change the lingo, fire and hire a bunch of people, but the business basically stays the same with no real added value. realize that the value in the company is its employees, not how many changes the new bigwig can make in his limited run.

I worked at Blackbaud full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A lot of awesome co-workers and great benefits. The culture is a huge pro for Blackbaud. Good opportunities to advance.

    Cons

Not much transparency. They attempted to outsource chat support and it was an utter failure and they had to back track and bring chat support back to the US offices. Management tries to make changes for the sake of change and it usually has poor results. Case loads are pretty high on some teams and they resist making new hires when needed. They also put too much focus on tailoring policies to match with RE and forcing other products to align with their support procedures when they don't work.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees at all levels and be more transparent with your ideas. Your CSAs are the ones who know what works on the frontlines, so listen to them when you are considering a new idea.

    Pros

    -Good amount of PTO given

    Cons

    - Promises are not kept and company seems to change a lot
    - Hard to live in the surrounding area with the salary you make
    - It is an entry level position, but most of the future positions are nothing to get excited about
    - A lot of the positions are changing and being restructured, resulting in long term employees (10-15 yrs) being laid off

    Pros

Great teams internally. Wonderful clients. Great atmosphere and love the encouragement for volunteering.

    Advice to Management

Increase salaries to increase retention and satisfaction.

    Pros

Good bonuses, great co-workers, great client/customer base!

    Cons

Too focused on bottom line, lack of promotion--hard work not always recognized, benefits expensive for coverage given

    Advice to Management
