I worked at Blackhawk Network full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    location location location as 1 2 3

    Cons

I am working on a core application!
Last year too many people left, position did not get filled
We are now doing the works of 3 or 4 people and yet no bonus, rise and any rewards. On top of that we are dealing with vindictive and narcissistic first line managers who wait for any opportunity to bully staff, dealing with borderline individuals/bipolar is so painful, this individual can ruin your day for no reason because of his ignorance, low IQ and lack of technical skills.
Most of the people on this floor are having title Sr. Staff..., Sr Technical Product ..., Sr Technical Manager, but they are not technical, they are big talkers and not even understand what they need to know to perform their jobs. As a matter of fact, some of them either always on vacations or in the office and not moving they fingers. Instead of getting knowledge, they just take someone else credit. What is an easy tide? I am getting the rewards on someone else blood haha ..
This is the most toxic culture, this makes me appreciate my old jobs more!

    Advice to Management

BHN core values, we are one team, we are accountable, this is a shame and so sad when I hear these!

I have been working at Blackhawk Network full-time

    Pros

Easy access from the freeway, located centrally in the tri-valley area. Some opportunity for growth depending on department/manager.

    Cons

No management training. Middle management lacks the ability to properly coach and mentor employees. Manager/Employee relationships can be very transactional. Like many companies, new employees are brought in at higher salaries than existing employees who get promoted for the same role.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers, invest in your employees, and you will see more dedication from employees.

I have been working at Blackhawk Network full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice colleagues, relaxed environment, employee out office events

    Cons

They made their money, sold out and are now sending American jobs to El Salvador. The wealthy owners only care about the $$$$, not the people.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with your employees!!! Hope the big wigs enjoy spending their billions made from the hard work and dedication from many people who you have casually discarded to make more money for yourselves. American employees and customers are what grew your business and you are now sending our jobs to another country so you can pay people $2 an hour . Shame on Blackhawk Network and Silver Lake P2 Partners (the new owners).
