    Pros

    Nice office spaces, hybrid working environment, fun activities, excellent recognition program, extra days off for employee appreciation, community, birthday. Nice new North Face company branded jackets for 3000+ people around the world. Continued effort towards better structures, tech, processes, benefits and people support.

    Cons

    When you acquire lots of company's sometimes post integration alignment is challenging. Some departments still operate with multiple systems / platforms / accounting processes which can be time consuming and doesn't help with day to day employee enablement.

    Working to blend acquired companies into one and doing a good job.

    Cons

    Large layoff of US staff for staff offshore last fall of IT QA team was tough.

    Pros

    Blackhawk is a great company with amazing gift card products. There is good opportunity for people who are willing to learn and take ownership. Some leaders and people are the best you can ever work with.

    Cons

    New middle management needs to have basic humanity. If your employee is doing three people’s job ( to the point of suffering a medical condition), the least you can do is to show some respect Instead, when your employee presents a doctor note, and asks for help, it is totally ignored ( as the new middle management is eagle to impress at the cost of her employer’s health). Then it will be an easy decision to choose between work or health.

    Pros

    Expectations were generally low, which sometimes led to a good work-life balance.

    Cons

    Because expectations were low, many non-engineer contributors were hard to work with, not able to take ownership of their role or their part of the domain. Low expectations also led to enormous tech debt, which was too readily accepted as a fact of life, and treated as a person problem, rather than an incomplete engineering job. The "agile" scrum vibe was a disaster, focusing on glib metrics. The classic pitfall of trying to do "agile" and "iterative" unilaterally, with no buy-in from stakeholders. So what's the point of that? The point is it allows managers and decision makers to pass the buck on accountability on to individual contributors.

    Pros

    The business model is complicated and there are always issues to be solved. The Senior Accounting and Finance staff are very good which creates a great environment for mentoring and promoting sraff.

    Cons

    Systems are not in place to support inorganic growth. M&A integration needs to be a focus to maximize the ROI on investments

    Incredibly disorganized. There are numerous divisions that are competing for the same client. Wasting resources - people, time and budget.
