    Pros

If you currently do Not work at this company - that is a Pro
If you currently work at this company and are looking to leave - that is a Pro

    Cons

    - Unprofessional, unethical behavior permeate the company culture.
    - Discrimination within the engineering organization at this company is real with personal case left unresolved.
    - Caustic work environment with endless finger pointing and blaming
    - Claims by executive management that employees are the most important resource but follow-up with actions, like firings, that don't support it.
    - Loss of innovation by hiring sub-par executive engineering leadership that continue to ride the coattails of prior leadership.
    - Charges by users of this site of fake reviews and incentives to employees to write good reviews attempting to make the company look better.
    - Poor performance and approval rating of the CEO.
    - Extremely poor and unethical performance by current SVP/CTO

Think very hard before you consider joining this company.

    Advice to Management

Board of Directors, take a hard look at what is going on inside the company. You don't want to become the next negative Bay Area news headline involving employee treatment.

    Pros

I love working for this company! It hits to the core of what I am looking for - a company with core values, a great team, interesting challenges, learning, diversity, innovation and opportunities.

Work/Life is good but YOU have to manage it. No one will do that for you.

    Cons

I would not want to work here if I was looking for a place to just cruise along. This is a place for growth oriented people.

    Advice to Management

    Don't stop!

    Pros

The coworkers are nice and fun to work with. They keep the office clean and tidy.

    Cons

    *Lack of pay
*Keep buying companies without their process so when we took over their systems, had no idea to use it.
*The company doesn't hire internally due to the pay cap .

    Advice to Management

Read the glint survey that you force your employees on...

Seeing lot of good changes with new management. This is a good time to establish/reinvent Blackhawk culture. Please don't be stingy when providing facilities at work place or appreciating employees. Increase compensation packages and advertise the brand more to attract good technical talent.

I have been working at Blackhawk Network full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some people are really nice, smart and good to work with.
Location if you live in the tri-valley
Stock seems to be doing ok
    Adequate benefits package

    Cons

Some people are NOT nice, NOT smart and NOT good to work with
17 acquisitions in the last 4 years with no plan or budget to integrate
Employees of 10 years "laid off" for strategic moves
    Not staffed properly for success
    Constant budget cuts
    Regular lay offs
No overall objectives set by executive management
Employee surveys (GLINT) that don't result in actions for management
Glassdoor reviews that have been requested to be posted and rewarded for doing it
Not enough reward or recognition for hard work
Hard to get promoted from within
People in leadership have no experience in the area they are managing

    Advice to Management

Get it together - get a plan for all of your acquisitions. Not just how you can get revenue from them, but how to properly integrate them to get economies of scale. Stop treating them like second class citizens. Perform an ROI to see if it has even been worth it. Stop the madness!

Stop with the fake Glassdoor reviews and start looking at the GLINT survey results. Create action plans to address the negative results in GLINT and rewards for the positive results.

Set some company objectives and make sure that all projects, acquisitions and spend align to one or more of the objectives.

Understand that budget cuts and layoffs make people worried... good people will not take their chances, they will just find a job at a company that seems more stable. Communicate, reward and reassure the people that are contributing the most. Provide training for your employees and say hi to the people that are making your company run when you see them in the elevator.

    Pros

The only positive is you meet lifetime friendships and they do have great bennifits.

    Cons

Unfortunately they do not care about employee happiness. This also depends on which team you are on, but this also seems like it goes across the board. They don't promote within, you have to leave and come back to even get to what you want. They would rather hire outside sources then promote their current employees. They don't focus on your career growth. You're underpaid for what you do. Your business reviews are a joke. Everything is "great", no constructive criticism to help you grow within a career. Management is HORRIBLE!! They only care about themselves, and don't take care of their teams. Management lies to you saying they have your back and fight for you, but don't. Very defeating as an employee. It's a great "stepping stone" company, not a long term company.

    Advice to Management

    TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES!!
