    Pros

You get to learn what not to do.
Your next company will seem amazing in comparison.
A handful of good people who deserve sympathy.

    Cons

Dilbert like management, would be amusing if it wasn't such a painful reality.
Technical incompetence / short cuts everywhere. Nothing works as it should.
Why hire someone to do a job when you can dump it all on a marginally related department?
Most of the good people who can leave, do.

    Advice to Management

Focus on firing 80-90% of managers. Replace them with people who have a goal of making employees happy, productive, and doing things the right way. Short term, reactive leadership isn't supposed to go on for years, only when a sudden problem occurs. The fact that these problems keep happening is indicative of your own failings.

    Pros

    Free Meals
some good people to work with

    Cons

There is a strong us vs them mentality when working with remote offices.
Upper management cut positions without regard to knowledge, or back filling.
Shifting goals make it hard to plan ahead, and lead to 'fire drills' to get features in.

    Pros

What a wonderful team to work with. The support, the dedication, and the fun that we have is constant, and I love it here!

    Cons

The Reno office is by far the best place I have worked. Considering there are many "call centers" in this area, Blackhawk Network Reno sets itself apart from being just another call center, it is truly a place to learn and grow!

    Advice to Management

Leadership: Keep up the positive feedback, and support. I am appreciative for each and everyone of you.

To my fellow teammates: Thank you for making everyday great!

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Flexible work environment, decent benefits, market compensation, elite executives in market strategy, vision, portfolio diversification, acquisition and long term planning.

    Cons

Politics, passive aggressive tactics from the bottom up. Years of in-fighting and manipulation amongst C level execs, focus on red tape and process, over accomplishments and solid product delivery. IT is the worst. Lots of dead weight, ie under skilled employees doing bare minimum. Obedience valued over passion and quality.

    Advice to Management

Specifically for IT: when engineering teams crank out crappy software and interfaces, don't allow them to move on to the next new project until they demonstrate they can fix the former mess. Otherwise they grow and improve.

Raise the bar on expectations. Fire managers who contribute to and encourage internal undermining.

Talbot, Jerry and Bill need undercover employees to get an accurate picture of how little forward progress is being made to fully apprecimade this feedback.
