I worked at Blackman Kallick as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Copperative and understanding recruiting managers
    Great coworkers
    Occasional awesome snacks

    Cons

The work (if it is document review) can still be mind-numbing.

    Advice to Management

The senior recruiters and Blackman Kallick (now Plante Moran) who work with contract attorneys are awesome. They really know what we care about as attorneys and they help us balance our solo practices, family obligations, pro bono, and job interview schedules as we do temp work to help make ends meet. You will be treated as an adult and a professional here. It is too bad they only deal with contract work and there aren't opportunities to go full time. But this can be a great place to start out while you are looking.

I worked at Blackman Kallick full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Friendly people
    - Good client base
    - Company is small enough where you can learn all aspects of an audit

    Cons

    - Partners are penny pinchers and do not care about work/life balance or making employees feel like they are treated well
    - Review process is very inconsistent
    - Not good training programs, company too cheap to pay for quality training

    Advice to Management

Open up your wallets and stop being so greedy. Employees leave here because they feel like all management cares about is billable hours and lining its own pockets.
