    Pros

Large and profitable enough to provide enormous resources and value. Yet small enough to deliver hands on, "white-glove" treatment. This is a company that treats its employees well, and in turn, empowers us to help others find resources and rewarding careers. I really appreciate this company and grateful to help others find what they're looking for in a tough market.

    Cons

No cons. Truly a place anyone would be grateful to call home.

    Advice to Management

    Continue the great work.

I worked at Blackstone Technology Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

BTG is good but the trellis product group in BTG is not a place you want to work

    Cons

    It is about Trellis.

    - It is not managed as product development company. It is like mom/pop shop.
    - No planning at all. Everything is on the fly.
    - Agile process is totally misused and they have no clue at all !
    - Absolutely no process and not willing to implement any standards.
    - Family members run product.
    - Not very professional and very moody.
    - You will be treated as a coder doing day job, no module ownership. One day you work for one lead and another day you work for another lead. It changes daily.
    - Be prepared, often you will be compared with contractor doing your house paint.
    - No work life balance.
    - Benefits sucks.
    - Interviewer and the recruiter will tell you that they are using the latest and greatest technology. But reality is, they use very old technology and no plan to change. You will realize once you join there. Total disappointment.

    Advice to Management

Run the company as professional product development company.

    Pros

    Great location and average pay.
Great snacks and sodas in fridge.
Small firm with employees that are dedicated to deliver and over deliver in becoming more than just a worker bee.

    Cons

    No diversity
    No strategic focus
    Nano manger as CEO
    Limited client portfolio
Employees expected to pay for their own travel and be reimbursed (hold on tight to receipts)
    Low employee morale
    High attrition
    Poor leadership
    No 401k match
Company egregiously tries to take advantage of being mistaken as BLACKSTONE Capital and leverage in their name
    Staff augmentation business model

    Advice to Management

I will be surprise if this company is around in 5 years. Buy life rafts!

I worked at Blackstone Technology Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some genuinely kind hearted, good people here. Unfortunately...

    Cons

Speaking only to the recruiting division, which is clearly a "We can do that too!" after thought for the company - HIGH turnover, painfully generic numbers game environment, old-school processes and approach, outdated tools and equipment, fear based, industrial age leadership methods. Basically, enforcing what everyone hates about recruiters and the industry in general.

    Advice to Management

Hire real leaders and innovators in the space. If and when you do, listen to them and make the changes or you will continue to suffer the mediocre success you have been and are currently experiencing.

I worked at Blackstone Technology Group as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone I worked with was really nice. I helped out some of the programmers, and I shadowed many of the developer meetings. It was a very helpful environment for me to learn about the various career positions I could take as a major in Computer Science. At the end of the summer, I gave a presentation to the developers about what I learned over the summer.

    Cons

There could have been some more direction for the internship. The program is very new, so they may have some more ideas to potentially implement.

    Pros

    *Positive working Environment
    *Work Life Balance is great
*Good mixture of clients (Contract & Perm)
*Account Managers in San Francisco are senior and have a good reputation with clients
*Upper Management have an open door policy which i really enjoyed conversations with CEO & President
*chance to make a lot of money

    Cons

*my only complaint would be to upgrade current computers

    Advice to Management

I really enjoyed my time at blackstone and will miss the people. My only advice would be to keep growing the team with more account managers for more business.

    Pros

Nice co-workers. People are nice. Overall though your competition is your fellow recruiters.

    Cons

Heavily micro managed. If you like someone breathing down your neck...this place is for you

    Advice to Management

Try trusting your recruiters. If you hire someone you should believe in them. The metric for contacting a certain number of candidates per week is ludicrous.

I have been working at Blackstone Technology Group full-time

    Pros

Great environment with friendly people to work with. Everyone cares about your well being and builds a team environment. The work can be demanding, but people break down your work habits in an effort to improve efficiency. Monthly happy hours. Great benefits and perks. Heart of downtown SF office location.

    Cons

Computers could be newer and cooler. Some software is slow and laggy. More money never hurt no one.

    Advice to Management

Can we hang out more? I just want to buy you a drink and pick your brain.

    Pros

Team members are nice and helpful

    Cons

    - Bad management. The EVP and the director don't know how to manage projects and people.
    - Fake agile practice. It's more like on-demand methodology. You are asked to implemented features at last minutes.
