I worked at Blink Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are none. No advancement. Minimum wage for luxury fitness style maintenance. Feeling of working under a North Korean dictator.

    Cons

Everything. You are expected to do everything doesn't matter what your title is. You will also do it for minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

    Quit.

I worked at Blink Fitness full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    fun environment, some cool member's

    Cons

Horrible pay, doesnt acknowledge the employees hard work, i used to have to scrub under about all 35 of the treadmill and pass the facility review ALONE and they still manager to never want to promote me. They also give one raise a year, and its right before new years so when the new minimum wage comes thats what raised your hourly rate

    Advice to Management

You guys need to go on the show called Undercover bosses so you can understand why you guys aren't growing as much as you have potential too. No career opportunity . Even 1 star is too much of a good rating

I have been working at Blink Fitness part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to connect with friendly members and improve customer service skills.

    Cons

There are way too many expectations and responsibilities held on Front Desk Associates just for minimum wage. We are expected to stock inventory, contribute to maintenance heavily such as scrubbing toilets and walls (although there we have maintenance workers already, greet every member every two seconds, tend to member issues because there is no customer service number or available corporate number. The random monthly meetings (depending on the location) are beyond unprofessional, points of focus are more about which employee has issues with who instead of actual job development. The favoritism, even if it is unintentional is palpable. Higher management and corporate seem so out of touch with the workers on the gym floor. It gets worse if one were to be promoted to assistant manager, they pay is beyond mediocre roughly a dollar and fifty cents raise from minimum wage ($11/hr) for a profuse amount of added responsibility. The gyms performance is based on the opinion of members with unreasonably high expectations of how a "budget gym" functions thus performance scores not always seem to be the best, especially when the issues are out of our control and corporate is unresponsive. Front desk associates always gets the tirades from management. With the low pay and the unreasonable expectations the job becomes a really difficult to like. Do not recommend as a full time job, likely better as a second job part time job.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a corporate number! The obvious and patronizing gap between management and associates needs to come to an end.

I worked at Blink Fitness part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being at the front desk gives you the opportunity to meet people and build connections on a daily basis. After a while you get to know the members by name and it makes the job so much fun.

    Cons

Too much responsibility for the pay and not enough incentive. As a Front desk associate you're expected to clean bathrooms , maintain the floor ,front desk area as well as provide tours answer phones etc. There are no commissions for sales however a score of 100 on a tour is $100 added to your check(secret shoppers).

    Advice to Management

Be attentive to the needs of your staff. Give them incentive to want to perform. After a while the staff becomes discouraged. Work

I worked at Blink Fitness (More than a year)

    Pros

The only pro I can think of is that it paid on time.

    Cons

The manager was very biased towards the personal trainers who she thought was attractive and actively cut the women's hours. She also skimped on the initial trainings and we had no idea how to properly run the facility according to brand standards. she was eventually let go for offering to sit in one of the personal trainers laps.
