I worked at Blink Fitness full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great environment with the members and staff and a free gym membership.

    Cons

Controlling area managers that are unchecked in their behavior, incompetent at leading, show blatant favoritism and are insecure to the point of putting others down.

    Advice to Management

Keep an eye on your area managers and support your staff more. Stick to what you say and be clear and fair.

I have been working at Blink Fitness

    Pros

Good clients, great staff to work with, friendly members, free gym membership. Flexible scheduling

    Cons

You’ll get out of it what you put in, and you only get paid based on how many clients you train. Even then, you’d have to live at the gym in order to make a living. Every time you don’t meet certain goals set forth by management, (start up sessions, clients trained per week/month, etc) they scold you and doesn’t offer any helpful advice to get to those goals. Regardless of your job title, you’re expected to do way more...

    Advice to Management

Where do I start? 1.) Take care of your employees! A lot of the front desk associates and maintenance workers work extremely hard at the gym, with little to no recognition by club managers or upper management. Pay all of your employees better, specifically your trainers- they’re the only ones who are generating extra revenue for the club. 2.) Communicate! Keep your employees informed on what’s going on. There tends to...

I have been working at Blink Fitness part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Free gym membership, advancement within the company

    Cons

very low pay rate for what is required for you to do (front desk/ assistant club managers) , no benefits, not guaranteed a set amount of hrs due to company budget change every so often, working on holidays (gym is open everyday of the year), rude members, on your feet 7+ hrs a day.

    Advice to Management

Employees would stay if the pay rate was higher.

  7. "Front Desk"

I have been working at Blink Fitness

      Pros

Its a fun fast paced environment with a chance for promotion. You get a free gym membership and scheduled hours are somewhat flexible.

      Cons

Issues aren't handled or delt with well by management. High turnover rate for employees. Little pay (starting $8.38) with a lot of work. Its clear when there are favorites. Dont apply if you arent prepared to do everything(clean gym, handle phone & in person issues, sell memberships without commission, restock merchandise)

      Advice to Management

Members and memberships are important for a sales based job but if you care about employees as much as you do numbers, the turnover rate wouldnt be so high.

      "Don't care about employees, period."

      StarStarStarStarStar
        Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Blink Fitness

        Pros

Free gym membership. Staff felt like family. Free gym membership.

        Cons

From corporate to the club managers themselves they don't seem to care about employees feedback. All they seem to care about is numbers and making sure the gym is absolutely spotless all the time which is your job no matter if you're apart of the maintenance team or not. I've seen front desk associates clean stuff that maintenance workers literally denied to do. The pay is too little for all the tasks they asks you...
