    Pros

Fast paced and strived to use new technology as it came along.

    Cons

No loyalty to employees in determining next steps for company.

    Advice to Management

Shouldn't have looked for ways to replace entire development team with pie in the sky promises.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Blockbuster full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was paid well and really liked most of the people I worked with the first time around (from 2003 - 2006). Managing the games marketing activities for over 4,000 stores (when I started in 2003) was a huge challenge, but it was always fun.

    Cons

It's pretty well known that sr leadership at the company ignored the explosion of Netflix's physical business and growing digital business. I know for a fact that Blockbuster could have bought Netflix for less than a billion dollars at one point and leadership didn't do it (despite the fact that everyone from VP's on down were urging them to do it). Also, during my second tour with the company in 2012, it was a far different experience. Simply put, there were still good people (though fewer of them) and the leadership team decided that instilling fear into the company culture was the right way to go.

    Advice to Management

Invent a time machine, go back in time, and unscrew every bad decision they made regarding subscriptions and digital.

    Advice to Management

I don't think there are many blockbuster stores left anymore so I can't say anything

I worked at Blockbuster full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Awesome job until corporate started micromanaging everything.

    Cons

Very hostile work environment. Store managers throw lower workers under the bus for everything. District managers have no idea how much the store managers suck. Executives come up with idiotic ways to make a simple job as ridiculously difficult as possible, and based totally from no real-world store level experience.

    Advice to Management

Go out of business... oh, wait... nevermind.
