I worked at Blockbuster (Less than a year)

    Pros

Employees could rent as many movies as we wanted for free. This was honestly the only the only perk of the job.

    Cons

Being reminded by management that we are disposable.
Being threatened with termination daily for not selling enough candy and expensive movie packages.
An outdated, difficult to use computer system.
    Closing at midnight.

I worked at Blockbuster part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free dvd rentals... and that's about it. I'm just typing more to hit the 20 word minimum here but there really weren't any pros to working here at all.

    Cons

They made you get a key to use the bathroom, I had to work with a brony alcoholic who drank on the job and a sexual harasser, they hired people literally two weeks before the location was to be closing so that they would have to help with liquidation (but at the same time you were still forced to try to sell an idiotic loyalty program that would clearly not benefit the customer since THE LOCATION WAS CLOSING)... among so many other things.

    Advice to Management

Well I'd give the management advice but, haha... there is no management because Blockbuster is a memory of a bygone era at this point. Good riddance.

I worked at Blockbuster (More than a year)

    Pros

None - Seriously, this job was a joke.

    Cons

Everything. Everyone just took it all so seriously. I mean, it was a gosh darn video store. People need to learn to separate their personality from their management skills.

    Advice to Management

Just breathe and realize you another tool.

I worked at Blockbuster full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Awesome job until corporate started micromanaging everything.

    Cons

Very hostile work environment. Store managers throw lower workers under the bus for everything. District managers have no idea how much the store managers suck. Executives come up with idiotic ways to make a simple job as ridiculously difficult as possible, and based totally from no real-world store level experience.

    Advice to Management

Go out of business... oh, wait... nevermind.
