Awesome Opportunities. Great Coworkers. Good Pay. Awesome Culture and Environment. Good Family/Work Life Balance.

    Cons

They need to understand the concept of confidentiality.

    Advice to Management

Treat the janitor that same way you treat the executives.

I have been working at Blood Connection full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good experience teaches you leadership, room to advance through the company. Pride pay outs if the company hits a monthly goal.

    Cons

Schedule is tough, hard to plan or have a life when you work every weekend and are on call. You deal with stinky donors, reactions such as vomit and passing out. Donor relations don’t understand anything about what phlebotomists do. Understaffed often

    Advice to Management

Book drives better by updating scheduled donor list. Send appropriate staffing, tell employees they smell bad and need to have better hygiene. Hold people accountable for laziness and recognize extra efforts from certain staff.

I have been working at Blood Connection full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Great mission. Growing like crazy.

    Cons

They abuse their employees especially entry level phlebotomists. Wrong people in management that don’t care about their employees.

    Advice to Management

    Get your act together.

I have been working at Blood Connection full-time

    Pros

Benefits, PTO, Discounts and I've made friends there. That's pretty much it.

    Cons

They overwork people and expect an extremely large amount of work to get done. They allow some employees to continue to call out, come in late, be lazy, gossip, bully and they dont do anything about it....sometimes they dont notice.

    Advice to Management

Please at least acknowledge the hard work that the employees do in the labs, biologic process, and hospital services. We work just as hard as the phlebotomist. And it would be nice if we got appreciation like they do and rewards like they always get. It would be nice if we could have holidays off like they do.

I worked at Blood Connection full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The work was fairly easy and allowed you to have time off your feet here and there. There was not a lot of hard things to learn.

    Cons

The people. That is the number one problem with this company. The people. Management wants to be friends with certain employees and it causes friction. If you aren't part of the clique, then you are basically over looked in all areas. Management will write you up for something, but will overlook the very same thing on another employee simply because they like them more. Constructive criticism does not exist here....

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone equal. Stop looking for all the faults in people. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, not just criticism. Know what is going on with other shifts, and when someone has an idea, and you intend on using it, give that person a little bit of the credit. Show a little more value in the employees who actually run around like a chicken with their head cut off rather than value the ones that sit on the stool on their phones...

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Blood Connection full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent benefits, extra check a month if company does well

    Cons

Company too focused on numbers and not donor experience, phlebotomists work long hours with little to no breaks, favoritism, phlebotomists lack customer service training and bruise a lot of people, company uses cheap supplies, trainers are a joke, unorganized

    Advice to Management

Start focusing on donor instead of berating employees when they don't make goal, phlebotomists need better supplies instead of the cheapest thing out there, make sure staff get adequate breaks, make sure trainers are competent in their roles
