I worked at Bloom Energy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There is a clear focus and alignment on mission of providing clean affordable electricity to everyone. This is why there are many long term employees in a business that requires stamina for success. The team has outstanding people working on leading edge technology so there is intrinsic satisfaction

    Cons

Being a pre-IPO hardware company, it cannot afford to provide the salary and benefits that one would get at a Google or Facebook or even Apple. The culture is biased towards the power base being in Engineering to the potential detriment of other functions

    Advice to Management

Focus on building a leadership structure where all functions have an equal seat at the table. Continue to push for extraordinary results and solving big challenges

    Pros

If you are up to a challenge Bloom is a great place to work. If not, quit complaining and find an easier place to go work.

    Cons

Pay not as high as other firms in Silicon Valley

I have been working at Bloom Energy full-time

    Pros

Brilliant people, using only the laws of physics to determine what can or can't be done, amazing progress in product evolution over the last generation, how much of an impact any individual can make if they really want to, and working on a technology that you can be proud to tell your family and friends about given it's environmental and economic benefits.

    Cons

It's a challenging work environment if you let it get to you. Working with very smart people isn't easy, but what you can learn is incredible. Working on a product that is creating an industry can be less predictable than some people are comfortable with, but managing through this uncertainty makes you stronger and yields new opportunities.

    Advice to Management

A more concise and understood strategic direction with positive reinforcement in each area to prove alignment may keep some teams from wandering off the path. Otherwise, keep pushing ahead... if this was easy, everyone would be doing it.

I have been working at Bloom Energy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only pro to working here is that I live 5 minutes away so I can ride my bike in the spring.

    Cons

The hours are horrible, middle and upper management are foolish and snobby, no competitive wages, managers lie and tell you what you want to here in order to use you to their benefit, and lastly, they use a contracting company to hire workers which is awful to deal with.

    Advice to Management

Middle management should grow a pair and inform upper management when they have bad ideas. Upper management needs to be more compassionate towards the needs of the production workers.

I worked at Bloom Energy (More than a year)

    Pros

Some good people, it is very difficult to find pros in a company so disorganized and backwards with the way they treat people and run the organization.

    Cons

Way too many cons for this review. Management is a joke. They do not care about the company only their own interests. Green energy is a scam, they produce toxic waste ( benzene). Their mission statement is a lie. Only big businesses use bloom fuel cells so they can cash in off of green energy government tax credits. The company is full of backstabbers, you will not get far from hard work and dedication, you will only succeed if you brown nose management. Positive thinking to the point of denial, egos are way too big ams way under deserved. Under qualified people doing qualified jobs. They are a corrupt business, google bloom law suits, they have no intentions of keeping there promises to the state of delaware. They need to work on clean ethics instead of clean energy. Trump is going to destroy them, and karma is coming for certain people there

    Advice to Management

What managment? I saw no control, no discipline, people stealing others ideas. Management worry more about how their coffee station looks than the very low moral of the team. Karma is coming to the corrupt, un ethical, ego inflated, pathetic scam that is bloom energy. Clean affordable energy for everyone in the world lol yeah right!! Its a carbon scam and they know it. Bloom is about to wilt

I have been working at Bloom Energy full-time

    Pros

    Groundbreaking technology.
    Collaborative approach.
Relatively nimble with respect to strategy.

    Cons

Conceited "executives"with awkward and ineffective management styles.
For some reason Bloom employees are told to act as if they are the smartest people in the room.
    Braggarts abound.
    Misogynistic and militaristic culture.
IPO seems to be a long way away but they always tell you it's just around the corner.
Many managers are disengaged, asleep at the wheel or not particularly smart (despite how often they tell you otherwise).
Morale is very low in basically every department - some departments have turned over 100% this past year and lack direction/leadership.
The company is considering a move further down towards San Jose, making the commute unbearable.
Until then Sunnyvale is boring and becoming more and more crowded.

    Advice to Management

Wake up. Most people don't like us or our approach. You've created an environment which leads to high turnover and unhappy customers.
    OR
Consider retiring and give someone else a shot.

I worked at Bloom Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place to pad your resume.

    Cons

This company is a complete hoax. Stay away. 16 years and still in startup mode. Product very expensive and unreliable. The management staff would practically eat their mother for extra money.

    Advice to Management

Keep your resume updated. Don't lie about the performance. You may go to jail. I hope Trump quits throwing American money down this bottomless pit of Hindu workers.
