Cons
Lacking flexibility (looks to be getting worse in 2024) Very few working parents probably due to the lack of flexibility Not transparent on salary compared to consultancies or banks such as hsbc There are a lot of KPIs and targets Management pay a lot of lip service to D&I and mental health but in reality they do not care at all. Lack of promotions as managers tend to stay at the firm the longest. Very high turnover the last few years.

Pros
Decent salary and benefits , nice offices.
Cons
There is no job security at Bloomberg. Layoffs are routine and frequent. It doesn’t matter how talented and dedicated you are if a manager takes a dislike to you or your group you’re gone, I’ve seen outstanding employees get the axe while poor ones keep their jobs. You want job security? Bloomberg will not layoff gay employees. There were layoffs in my group, I saw really good employees let go. Yet the member of our group who regularly comes to work late, goes home early, sloughs off work on other people, frequently leaves the office to do “errands,” calls in sick when he’s not and spends most of his workday texting friends still has a job. Why? Because he’s gay. Bloomberg was once sued by an employee who said he was laid off because he was gay. Bloomberg won the case but I guess didn’t like the publicity.
