I have been working at Bloomin' Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People at Bloomin Brands are smart and caring people. Frequent leadership training. Company going through Agile Transformation, or at least wants to.

    Cons

Old school cubical office space. Teams are broken up and reallocated to different teams/projects frequently loosing the ideal "high performing team". Who u know is more important than how well you do your job. Culture in IT.....what culture?

    Advice to Management

Align with business to set few/important goals and stop changing priorities. Invest in data/data analytics so decisions aren't made by a few individuals 'gut feelings'

I worked at Bloomin' Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The friends and acquaintances I’ve made.

    Cons

Too much favoritism, constant belittling of IT team members that know their job and role from the “team leads, supervisors and director”. No real IT knowledge from one team lead or supervisor, can’t even pronounce cache correctly, refers to it as caché, talking about being uneducated and doesn’t know the first thing about desktop nor remote tech support, she rather sit and crochet and gossip with her clique of followers than learn and listen to the team

    Advice to Management

    Get a clue!

    Pros

    - Pay, benefits, location of office
    - Employee discount at restaurants
    - genuinely nice people

    Cons

    - volume of email
    - difficult to make improvements
    - difficult to change roles

    Advice to Management

Focus more on inside the 4 walls of the restaurant...less on consumer facing technology. If the food and service is great, technology becomes irrelevant.

    Pros

    Growth Opportunities
    Great Culture (but dwindling)

    Cons

    Constant restructuring
    Low pay
    Highly competitive industry

    Advice to Management

Re-evaluate true business needs of employment, then hire and pay fairly. Stop creating jobs and levels of jobs just to cut them in a year, then backfill the same job again in 6 months. Their motto: "If the company takes care of their people, the people will take care of the company" has been entirely forgotten it seems.

Never know when your job could be on the line.
    Always cost cutting.
    Very shortsighted.
