    Pros

    employee discount great friends made

    Cons

There is no way to make a decent living and you never know what your pay check is going to be. You are constantly worried about returns and employees are pitted against each other to make a sale. You are asked to do other tasks and you are not paid for it you are paying your deficit back and never seeing commission. horrible and shameful way to pay your employees.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees a decent hourly plus commission and you will see a loyal and happy staff. You are losing great employees to other retailers that understand how to pay them.

    Pros

Very lenient when it comes to time-keeping and autonomy to move around the store and sell where we'd like

    Cons

Could get more support from management

    Advice to Management

Few assistant managers, Department managers are hard to get ahold of sometimes

    I worked at Bloomingdale's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great career path and training program. Some really great people at the company. Great discount. Good vacation policy.

    Cons

Salary is not competitive with the rest of the retail industry. Once you hit buyer or planner level there is not much movement up from there. Medical benefits are horrible. Rarely make a bonus. The politics that go on within the company are a huge turn off. Work life balance is non existent after omni merge.

    Advice to Management

Need to take better care of the people that were once committed and loyal to the company. Not sure where the executive committee is taking this company but it's sad to see all these people leaving left and right. Need to make people feel happy and engaged like they once did if you want to retain the few good ones that are left.

    Cons

They were really none that I can recall. So please do not ask for 20 words so I can move on Please.

I have been working at Bloomingdale's (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule. Like working with people, like fashion, and like to be physically active at work. I have been there a long time, so I get 3 weeks vacation.

    Cons

Not mentally challenging, salary is not growing, and at times very trying. I would also like to be with my family on holidays like Thankdgiving, because most of my family is out of town.

    Advice to Management

    Be a little more flexible.

    I worked at Bloomingdale's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Narcissists and psychopaths will thrive and be promoted. There are many very nice and hard working people who work there, but they will not last in leadership positions.

    Cons

You will already be invested in your experience there before you realize how super skeevy it is to work there.

    Advice to Management

    Give honesty a try.
