I have been working at Bloomington Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Decent benefits and starting pay.

    Cons

As Bloomington Hospital is becoming more like the rest of IU Health some of its good benifits have been taken away and many of its extra perks, eg. daycare, cheap procedures for employess and such have disappeared to be more in line with what the system offers.

    Advice to Management

Stop ignoring the fact that your lab employees are overworked and undercompensated

I worked at Bloomington Hospital full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The HR department was extremely helpful. People take pride in what they do and being professional. Education reimbursement.

    Cons

It is a busy hospital. There are always opportunities to pick up extra hours, because there was often a need for more nurses.

I worked at Bloomington Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay, good benefits, flexible time off and good PTO accounts

    Cons

Poor training, unless you're a nurse or directly patient care related, you're considered garbage.

    Advice to Management

Get out of your office and look into why so many people quit their jobs here. Treat your employees better; like a person and not like a number or dollar sign.

I have been working at Bloomington Hospital full-time

    Pros

Charge nurses are helpful and polite. Pay is competitive.

    Cons

Short staffed a lot but it seems they never hire more help. Someone is always floated. Benefits could be better.

    Advice to Management

Hire more float nurses. Better benefits. Better nurse to patient ratios on med surg. 6:1 should never happen. It's too much.
