I have been working at Bloomsburg University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Faculty are generally very collegial, and are usually willing to help each other out. Student interest in education varies, but most seem genuinely motivated to learn and succeed.

    Cons

Administrative decisions are extremely difficult to predict. This is partly a product of administration not being transparent with faculty. This is very frustrating for faculty who do their best to provide students with a top-quality education.

    Advice to Management

The faculty are well-aware of the financial pressures that the system faces, and therefore understand that not everything that is requested (or every suggestion that is recommended) will be met by administration. Therefore, keeping faculty out of the decision-making loop does not help to allay concerns about the stability of the system, it merely frustrates faculty who do not know when/why certain steps are taken.
