I worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not a single pro for this company

    Cons

This is the worst company I have ever worked for. The Company has a poor setup and there is no organization. Employees have no accountability and transfer any call they receive to any department they wish. I can understand how everyone is so frustrated.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to step up and have an easier system. Right now "Customer Service" Reps handle all the calls but are unlicensed and cannot answer any questions. This shows how large companies utilize massive hirings and don't offer any training.

Do not follow company's core values, lacks management leadership
Very demanding and low pay and you constantly to the members

I have been working at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Decent pay for entry level

    Cons

Schedule changes every 3 months, Bonuses are barely anything, Benefits are good, No room for advancement unless you plan on staying on the phone for 10+ years

    Advice to Management

Loved my first manager, he wanted to help develop me in the best way possible. Second manager was more than unprofessional. When they moved me to my third team, that manager never left her office.

I worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The health insurance benefits are great. You meet some good people. You can use your experience from here (because they hire everyone) to work in another healthcare setting.

    Cons

The pay is not good for the workload. The managers are messy, unprofessional and not knowledgable. The managers get upset if you ask for help with your job and will do anything to avoid helping. The training is long and you don't learn much about what you will actually be doing

    Advice to Management

Hire more professional people. Invest in better training

    Pros

Good benefits and a good place to work.

    Cons

Cannot think of any cons right now.

    Advice to Management

Be a little more concern of the employees when it comes to employee appreciation.

I worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Competitive Salaries and generous bonuses & vacation package.

    Cons

Clients & prospects (external) have learned that the Company will do anything, no matter how immoral or debasing to land a contract ($$$). This approach leads to constant and major implementation and financial accounting errors. The company outsources/off-shores highly sensitive functions which has lead to data breaches and costly re-work. If your personal reputation is not important, this is a good place to make a good salary.

    Advice to Management

Recognize that incremental change is more beneficial to the long-term health of the company rather than the large-scale multi-year changes which are usually out-of-date by the time they go-live. Find ways to be more responsive to customers and to how a good business operates.
