I have been working at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Love my job. I am fortunate enough to be in the mix with a great team of many professionals who are passionate about their work. A lot of flexibility in work hours and management takes work/life balance seriously. Benefits are awesome and there are a lot of opportunities to learn, serve the local community and get fit.

    Cons

The only downside for me is the commute.

I have been working at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, easy going workplace, easy to move up and to find your perfect fit. BCBSM also pays for school wether it be undergrad, graduate, or certain trainings.

    Cons

There is a very corporate old school feel even though the company values are far from it. Offices are grey and bland, and the bureaucracy can be a tad bit too much.

I worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good compensation. Friendly senior management who took interest in me. My immediate management in HR was bad in many ways, but I don't think my experience was representative of most of the interns' experience. Overall, senior management took interest in the interns, provided opportunities for them to be heavily involved in projects, and intern program seemed to be well-structured. Once again, I think it really depends on what department you are in.

    Cons

HR department is bureaucratic and traditional. Friendly people but limited tolerance for creativity or new ideas.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.
