    Pros

Overall great benefits; tuition assistance, 401k plan and some flexibility

    Cons

Mgmt would be in a better position to inspire if they had previous experience with their staff's work

    Advice to Management

Hire mgmt with prior experience in the work that their employees are doing and with people skills so that they can manage more effectively.

I have been working at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Benefits are amazing
    Work is interesting and challenging
Opportunity to grow with the company as they tend to promote from within

    Cons

    Commute
Stress and pressure from leadership can be overwhelming at times depending on what area you work for. Expectations are very high (which is a good thing) but guidance and mentorship is often lacking which can make it seem like nothing you do is ever good enough.

    Pros

I have been working at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan full-time

    Pros

I love how much the company prioritizes diversity and all of its facets. Virtually everyone is approachable, friendly and helpful. The ability to move within the company is also attractive.

    Cons

Some of the older systems and job processes are time consuming and could be simplified. Big corporations such as this one commonly have trouble with not only changing but changing quickly.

    Advice to Management

Continue to give your team members autonomy in their work. Continue to nurture a culture of inclusivity.

I have been working at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Enjoy working downtown, excellent benefits, advancement opportunities, good internship program, strong emphasis on diversity

    Cons

Lack of work-life balance, long hours, very top heavy, little top down communication, "old school" management style, time wasted on out of date procedures, relatively low pay

    Advice to Management

Modernize management style and structure. Current form is unappealing to young talent, and morale is generally low.
