    People are amazing who work there. Makes going to work easy

    Benefits are good

    Cons

    Work culture is a little older and they could create a better atmosphere for a younger generation and to help keep things fresh and creative. They are working on this though.

    Pros

    Great people to work with and work for, never ending list of projects. Very influential company at the forefront of US healthcare.

    Cons

    Budget cycle occupies 10 months of the year, definitely has a "big company" feel. Way too much in terms of unnecessary middle-management layers and functions.

    Great people who will go out of their way to help you develop and grow as a person. They also have a budget for training every year.

    Cons

    Totally lost on what today's IT looks like. They fall prey to buzz words and ideas that are not applicable to the industry.

    It's hard to move up. sometimes office politics takes place. Rarely convert their contractors to blues (employees)

    They are a great company to work for! They give you the tools to do your job and they have great benefits.

    They represent an association of BC and BS Plans around the country, so there may be a lot of travel required, depending on your position.

    Many employees have worked there for a number of years, so the staff are very close and almost feel like your family.

    I enjoy working at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, the people are very friendly and relaxed and there is a lot of opportunities to grow and be effective in the organization.

    Cons

    As a contractor, I do not get a lot of good benefit package.
