I have been working at Blue Cross of Idaho full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Flexible work schedule
    Good Benefits
Pay is standard (could be more)

    Cons

Amount of work vs amount of employees
    Micro-managing
    Lack of training
    Lack of trust from management
    Being ignored by management
    People with attitude problems
    Overtime
    Lack of advancement opportunities
    Favor's only certain employees

    Advice to Management

Working in Medicare Advantage for the past few years has been quite an experience. We are micro-managed, treated as though we are in grade school and ignored by management. Advancement does not exist in this department unless you are one of the manager's favorite employee's. Getting to know your co-workers is not allowed.

    Pros

People are nice. The pay is good for the job type. There are many different shifts to fit your life. The benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

Clear expectations were never set. A culture of distrust and micromanagement. Management is disconnected from the reality of the situation.

    Advice to Management

Set expectations. Listen. Listen Listen. Did I say, listen? Communicate clearly and with purpose. Don't punish your employees for doing what you asked them to do. Follow through on promises.
