I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time

    Pros

Potential to make a lot of money.

    Cons

Be prepared to experience favoritism. Deals are thrown to the Sales managers favorites. Favoritism is based on no merit or particular skill, just who they "like" the most.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times, it's not the 80s anymore. Practice transparency! & realize that what worked 20 years ago doesn't work anymore when it comes to policies and how you treat your employees.

    Pros

Casual Fridays for all departments Ample parking spaces 8-5 hours

    Cons

Pay is on the extremely low side Poor communication between management teams - specifically in the Software Sales department Male managers not accepting of women Upper management caters to their children and family members when filling open positions

    Advice to Management

Be more conscious of how you are staffing, family members aren't always the best choice Pay accordingly, don't be cheap, especially with regards to the luxury cars in the managements parking spots - if you have money for those, you can find some to fix the building and bathrooms

I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great company that values loyalty. If you succeed and meet expectations there is not limit on where you can go with this company. Positive work environment and great medical/health benefits

    Cons

tons of pressure on sales to succeed and no repercussions for those who don't.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be hold your staff accountable for not meeting expectations. And realize "a kick in the butt" doesn't necessarily accomplish long term results.

    I worked at Blue Technologies

    Pros

Most of the people that work there are nice people.

    Cons

Where to start. First, be aware that there are LOTS of family members working for this company, so they have a different view than the average employee. This is a very old style, limited outlook type of environment. The business could be so much more than it is if the management would let go of VERY old methods of doing business. This is a very negative work environment.

    Advice to Management

Learn from your younger employees about how to compete in the current business environment. This is not the 80's.

I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Certain management is fantastic. They truly feel as if they are family and do everything for their employees. Their benefits are better than average. The CEO embraces the mentality of a locally owned business as opposed to selling out and going corporate. Employees come together in times of need, for each other and for charity.

    Cons

The company should adopt some policies that are't several decades old. They're having difficulties getting/keeping employees due to unwillingness to change. Some management would rather throw each other under the bus than assist their own teams. Business seems doomed to fail. Large age differences in employees causes conflict.

    Advice to Management

There are worse things than tattoos and piercings. Better pay might bring better candidates. Appear to care for departments that aren't sales.

I have been working at Blue Technologies

    Pros

Owners truly want you to be successful and care about your personal life. Owner also has genuine philanthropic values. Most technology solutions sold at Blue are top notch. It's a great place to develop toughness and old school b2b sales techniques/experience. If they believe in you, they will do their best to help you succeed.

    Cons

Culture is not suited for the millennial personality who desires a collaborative, innovative, tech driven, & fun environment. Overall lacks professionalism. Don't expect to find a mentor here. Despite training, it's pretty much a figure it out yourself or fail environment. Things have to be dramatic in order to get accomplished, because support staff in Cleveland is spread so thin. Almost, everything is a battle, not...

    Advice to Management

Implement the technology you sell and make it a priority. Stop looking at base salary for sales reps as a cost and start valuing their ability to represent you in front of your customers and the communities they sell in. Account management is a real thing, your reps also create name recognition for your company when they do phone or door to door calls. So compensate them for EVERY sale regardless of whether they pay you...

I have been working at Blue Technologies for less than a year

      Pros

great commission plan. Very rigorous training which makes performing tasks easier when entering the field. great community contributions made by company

      Cons

limited room for growth but great room to make money. lack of communication within organization. Majority of managers are children of owners and many aren't performing effectively or efficiently.

      Advice to Management

hire people who are qualified for management positions not just children. keep up the community involvement and commission plan.

I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time

      Pros

The sales training is like no other. They truly invest in each employee to give them the knowledge and skill set needed to work in a sales organization. This can be a highly competitive and rough industry to thrive in and they stand behind those willing to work hard. Great upper management team.

      Cons

Salary is lower. Need to compensate for that by working extremely hard to make up for it in the commission and bonus structure. Still a little old school in sales philosophy and prospecting. Still want employees to memorize phone scripts.

      Advice to Management

If you want to attract millennials to the organization offer what is important to millennials. The pay structure isn't even close to being competitive to what other sales organizations offer and feeling micro management doesn't make people want to work harder it creates a more hostile work environment.

      Pros

This is one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for. The company truly values their employees and cares for their well-being. The company environment is wonderful and full of many talented individuals. If you’re looking for a wonderful place to work, this is the place for you! You will not be disappointed.

      Cons

There is honestly nothing bad I can say about this company. They are good people, great pay, great environment. I love it.

      Advice to Management

      Keep up the great work!

I have been working at Blue Technologies

      Pros

Old school company so they believe in loyalty and ownership. Most of the employees have been there from the get go so they take care of their own. Great opportunity for someone who is looking to stay local. Atmosphere is "homey". You want be where you can see your troubles are all the same. You want be where everybody knows your name.

      Cons

A few downsides- old school company, old school rules. Very little on vacation/sick time. Zero sick time if you're in sales. Don't expect to take time off the last of the month or the during holiday. Compensation could be a bit better. You can tell who's favorited and who's not.
