I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time

      Pros

Some of the newer technology sold is very interesting. Some great people on staff. If you manage to make any sales there can be good morning it.

      Cons

Berating the staff as a form of management is the order of the day. Micromanaging and training contradictions will make your head spin. Favoritism abounds. Understaffed in many support technician rolls which can make working there very difficult.

      Advice to Management

For a technology company they should probably start using some of the software they sell. Having an old school mentality isnone thing, pretending sales hasn't changed since you began the company is another. Trust your people to do their jobs. Checkouts are ridiculous.

I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time

      Pros

The company is old school with some things and that's a huge positive! For example, if you work smart and get results, you will be rewarded. However, if you want to join a place where average is accepted, keep looking. Other old school concepts like loyalty, discipline and constantly looking to improve are still alive and well. Is there pressure to deliver results? Yes! Is there an expectation that you will get...

      Cons

They should not allow people to smoke near the rear door. Some of the slackers are also negative and that spreads to others. Probably only 2-3 bad apples, but they seem to drag us all down. Wish they would just leave already. The new guy they hired should spend more time helping us with our internal operations... Seems like he is always meeting with customers or helping them. No employee ownership plan... that...

I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time

      Pros

Fun Environment, Educated People who promote success. Leading Products. Motivating management to do the right everyday! Committed to serving the customers everyday!

      Cons

no movement into upper management. It has been the same upper management since 1995

      Advice to Management

Give the successful management the opportunity to grow and move up in the company. Get rid of those that have a title and do nothing for the company.

I have been working at Blue Technologies

      Pros

The ability to earn Net New business and feel the accomplishment of succeeding. Building strong rapport for future clients at the same time making sure my current customers are more than happy with my product and the services we provide.

      Cons

The structure of the company is weak. I feel as though I am a work horse with a saddle on its back not allowing me to earn more business like I strive to do.

      Advice to Management

Look at why their employees may not last more than a year. Turn around time is terrible.

I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time for more than a year

      Pros

It is difficult to think of any. There is a midsummer party with terrible food.

      Cons

Worst company I have every worked for. Constant oral sex jokes from the sales staff, intimidation and demands of after-hours work without compensation, completely pathetic internal technology. 50 Windows XP machines still running, and they sell themselves as a technology company. The staff is so overwhelmingly negative and depressed it is palatable when you walk in the building. There are no windows in the whole place....

      Advice to Management

Get out of the managed services space. You have absolutely no idea what you are doing, and the quality of the service you are providing is at best embarrassing, at worst criminal.

I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Salary plus commissions. Great manager in the Columbus office but all the owners/managers are awesome! They really care about their sales staff and take good care of them. Great opportunity in the Columbus market and endless opportunities to make great money!

      Cons

Tough business. You have to have thick skin to do this job. You have to be ready and willing to put in 110% effort and be self motivated.

I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time for less than a year

      Pros

I find it interesting that the only 5 star rating of this place is done by someone in Marketing. And there is only one person in Marketing that I am aware of, the daughter of the owner. It is a workplace intended only for the highly motivated, and so there is great talent across the board.

      Cons

They have a difficult time of seeing the great talent. I haven't been here that long but it seems that turnover is quite high. So far the meetings I have had with the leadership have all been a bit berating. They seem to like the tough love approach in getting results, however, that doesn't work for everyone. Compensation is average, nothing spectacular. I have heard from others that the end of the year bonus is...

I have been working at Blue Technologies full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Products and solutions sold to customers are top of the line, best products on market. Company really wants everyone to be successful and the training is extensive. Lots of room for growth as the company expands. Privately owned business for almost 20 years and keeps growing. For sales reps there is unlimited earning potential, with lots of ways to earn extra commissions and 2 free trips a year. Everyone is friendly...

      Cons

Must have a strong work ethic to cut it here, no slackers. Sales reps have rigid expectations, and for everyone else the work is fast and steady. Holidays and vacation days are less than what most people would consider standard, but there is talk of reviewing these policies. Lack of vacation days can cut into a healthy work-life balance. Although most work days the office clears out by 5:30.

      Advice to Management

I believe management is warming to the idea of reviewing some of the least popular policies in order to improve retention and I encourage that. For the most part, Blue Technologies is a positive place to work but it would be nice to get more pats on the back for a job well done.

I have been working at Blue Technologies

      Pros

outside of management influence the work ethic for a vast majority of people and interdependent cooperation is good for the most part.

      Cons

Lack of consistent training practices. Putting service technicians in positions they are not properly equipped to handle. Pay is low for the industry as well as no real performance reviews in all the years worked there.

      Advice to Management

Pay more attention to some departments while giving others the accountability they should have. The blatant favoritism to one particular department is killing the morale for the rest of the company.
