I worked at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Family oriented, great benefits and time off. Great place for temp workers.

    Cons

Outdated software, no upward mobility, low pay for duties assigned. Quantity over quantity is preferred.

    Advice to Management

Pay seasoned employees what they are worth and you avoid losing senior employees.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina full-time

    Pros

Supportive CEO, gives back to the community, employee volunteering

    Cons

The hiring process was really slow because there are several levels of management who have to approve of every new hire.

    Advice to Management

Make the job application and interview process run more smoothly. You're losing out on great talent because other companies are better recruiters.

I worked at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As with most positions here, you just have to show up... But that can also be a negative thing (see below). Nice cafeteria. Quiet work space if you're not around the phones. Most employees seem to have moved through various positions, so there are other opportunities after a year of employment.

    Cons

Feels like a glorified data entry clerk. Not much brain power involved in this position. Leaves much to be desired compared to accounting tech positions elsewhere. I am not using all of the skills I came here with.
