I have been working at BlueKai full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * HR is very sensitive and responsive to employee needs (you go, Kate!)
    * Fast pace and exciting industry
    * Awesome leadership and great people
    * Great company culture with integrity and ethics (great thing for all the consumers!)
    * The company genuinely cares about its employees and shows it through various company-wide initiatives
    * I've never worked at a company where the morale is as high as it is here
    * Almost everything is very transparent from C-level down to the troops in the trenches
    * Plenty of opportunity for growth if you want to own up to it
    * Hard work comes with rewards; company is not shy to reward high achievers
    * Great compensation and awesome benefits

    Cons

    * Workload can be overwhelming at times
    * The complexity of the system and business logic takes sometime to onramp (but it is worth it; what BlueKai does is the future of data)
    * Product-driven culture; lack of engineering-driven culture takes getting used to. But it helps that people in Product generally know what they are doing
    * Product wants visible releases which, at times, come at the expense of software stability and test coverage; luckily this culture is changing with engineering pushbacks

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing to build a great culture; Don't let Oracle's mass and lack of care for employees stop building this awesome team. Hopefully Oracle execs will take note and learn all the tricks from Omar, Sam, Alex and the rest of the execs at BlueKai and make things better for the rest of Oracle enterprise.

I have been working at BlueKai full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    It Used to be:
    open culture.
great problems to solve (these still exists)
    Good teams

    Cons

    Oracle is happening to BK:
It is becoming a Bureaucratic hell hole!! Diktats on implementation come down rather than freedom as promised. Attrition is a problem, some teams are hit more than others.
Senior Execs on the development side are more interested in playing politics than helping developers. Business strategy overall lacks accountability and is focused on selling data without regard to Data Quality.

    Advice to Management

Leave politics, focus on building a good product that helps customers.

I have been working at BlueKai full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Innovative Company, intelligent people, fun environment.

    Cons

It's a small, fast-growing company, and has typical growing pains at time - we are consistently under-staffed, but always hiring. It's a start-up environment. Not really a con, rather something to be expected.

I have been working at BlueKai full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * High priority on employee development and satisfaction
    * High priority on success and customer satisfaction
    * Company promotes cooperation and collaboration across the organization
    * They understand that work/life balance results in more loyal, responsive employees
    * Fantastic diversity - the highest ratio of femaie to male engineers I've encountered. Great ethnic diversity as well.

    Cons

These are more things to consider than cons:
    * You have to believe in the process of data collection and how it results in targeted ads.
    * The company drives to succeed. That means you have to be willing to do so as well. This is not a company to sit back on your laurels. (I don't see that as a negative.)

    Advice to Management

Keep up the fantastic work, and thank you for the work you've done.

Young company, might feel too little process but not a big deal.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at BlueKai full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Innovation and information-sharing are highly encouraged.
    - Awesome work-life balance.
    - A huge amount of autonomy is freely given to employees.
    - Stellar managers who trust their reports and do not micromanage.
    - Competitive salary and bonuses.
    - Fun company events (both during and after work).
    - Great blend of work and play.
    - Intelligent coworkers who are passionate about what they do and always willing to collaborate.
    - Positive and energetic office environment.
    - Opportunity for IPO.

    Cons

Offices are spread out (NY, SF, Cupertino, Seattle, and London) so teams can be very fragmented. However this also lends to people always being on the move and working their own schedules, which adds to the great autonomy afforded to employees.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    9. Plenty of fun company events
    10. No micromanaging, do your job and have fun while you're at it

    Cons

For employees live in SF, commute to Cupertino aren't pleasant, but good news is that BlueKai will be opening a SF office in Q4 of 2013.
A lot of internal tools for the purpose of streamlining things, but they actually add more work and not easy to manage.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to influence without authority.
