I worked at Blueline Rental full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Mostly happy people, fluidity to change what isn't working

    Cons

It's a good old boys club run by men from the same previous employer. They run on handshakes instead of ability. Women don't advance into management. Too fluid and too much change, especially in senior management roles. People won't stay if you can't show they are valued.

I have been working at Blueline Rental full-time

    Pros

Great coworkers. Great pay and benefits. Matched 401K on day one.

    Cons

This company has a quick employee turnaround, and there are not many employees who have been with the company for more than a year. This leads to poor job security and company outlook.

Not many women in leadership roles, or with the company in general. Women are discouraged from rising into manager positions by other managers, and they are often ostracized when they do. It is a boy's club disguised by smiles and easy going personalities.

    Advice to Management

Build a better system before trying to overcome competition. Take your employees concerns into better consideration. A good foundation builds stability. There is no employee loyalty at this company and the quick turnaround rates looks bad to your customers.

I have been working at Blueline Rental full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This company is hiring the right talent and is very supportive to growth and success.

    Cons

It’s a little tougher to produce at BLR than at some of the huge competitors due to less name recognition but the compensation for producing is greater and the support is everywhere if you just ask for it.

    Advice to Management

    Continue moving in this direction.

I worked at Blueline Rental full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Health benefits, 401k, vacation time.

    Cons

Everything else. Lack of equipment and locations to handle National clients. No consistency in pricing from one store to another. Lack of training across the board. Not a sales driven company. Managed from 30,000 feet, people that don’t work get away wth it while all the weight is put on those that do. In my case, misrepresented where they wanted to go and what they were willing to do. Can’t commit anything to clients as OSR because you knew you would not get support from management. I heard too many times management say if customers don’t like what we provide they can go somewhere else. Mirror image of United Rental.

    Advice to Management

Executive board has one mission in mind and they think everyone is to dumb to see it. They close stores that are not highly profitable quickly. They are putting lipstick on a pig to sell the company so they can walk out millionaires and don’t give a crap about employees. If you don’t want to work for United Rentals, don’t hire on as this company shows all the earmarks of intentions to sell to them. Every operating software and practices are identical to United.

fun and growing business if you like construction equipment, benefits and pay was above average,

    Cons

upper management was not sure what they wanted from day to day, one day its equipment on rent and the next day it rate

    Advice to Management

slow down and you will go faster. Give your people time to adjust and digest everything you want them to learn to be successful
