I have been working at Bob Evans part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Clientele are typically good tippers for a low cost breakfast restaurant. More "high class" people come here, unlike people who visit ihop, Denny's, or Waffle House.

    Cons

You have to work. But you don't have to tip anyone out which is a plus. Fast paced environment especially on weekend mornings.

    Advice to Management

You're amazing. Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Very consistent you have an upfront approach from upper management.

    Cons

I don't have con's to share as I believe they've stood by all that they've said to me.

    Advice to Management

Continue to lay the path for others to progress like you have

    Pros

It's really great, when I started in 2012, I went back in the restaurant business after 15 years, of working adm/clerical. I guess after almost being there 4 years, I would NEVER WORK there again.

    Cons

The management really after 2 managers, work place sucked. To much favortism.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect, and not just a number

    Pros

Very flexible, they helped me get through school by giving me time off if I needed to do a big project for school. Very friendly coworkers, everyone was willing to help. You make bank At breakfast time.

    Cons

More work, less money. Bob Evans has 3 course meals, every customer gets bread with their meal, soup and salads also come with some meals.

    Advice to Management

Pick people that have people skills.

I worked at Bob Evans full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay was decent. Paid by the hour so you're paid for every thing you put into the store. Tremendous opportunity for growth. Chance to work with some really great people who really know what they're doing. Learned at lot from the people I worked with.

    Cons

The work is stressful. The days can often end up being longer then the 10 hours you signed up for. Some locations are harder to staff then others. A lot of the time you find your self in category running a position rather then managing the restaurant. Direction from Corperate is sometimes unclear, leaving out details or reasonings.

    Advice to Management

Give your managers the tools they need to succeed. For example a better online application system. Or just better communication when making changes to our operations.

New marketing campaigns often are released with major errors or misprints. Ever heard of "measure twice, cut once"? How about asking someone at the store level to review and offer opinions or corrections before releasing a final print.
